Best do a quick test next time...or just choose a beamer maybe lol. Still good fun though, thanks guys. I did take a look a few times in the replay, I braked the same place as the previous lap (in hindsight maybe a bit too late) and Youappeared to lock up before the corner, next You were collected by Gratulin upon reentering. I probaby should have kept going as I didn'trealise there had been a second coming together. Race 3 was great fun trying to hold off Phil, and if it weren't for the last corner before the pit straight You would have had me laps earlier.Eventually I braked too late and went off, then was too ambitious reentering and let Daveo past.Enjoyed being competitive for a change, and not a bad result considering almost no practise. I can't believe 2nd was all I could manage with such a weapon of a car....Kudos to Mael & Bacchulum who took out the nights races! I don't think I've EVER had a night were I felt so in-tune with a car and track as that Lancia felt awesome. What it lacked in straight line speed and acceleration I could make up for in the corners as it had so much grip, so the more I pushed, the more grip it felt it had even with low wings (F2/R1). One can only imagine what some of the better setup guys could do in this car as I suck at that area of the game. All I touched was the wings, fuel and gears. The first start for race 1 was epic, but the 2nd attempt killed me. For some reason as soon as I plucked 1st gear I got a drive-thru penalty and so it was a matter of controlled aggression trying to see how high i could climb from dead last at the end of lap 1. Looking at the reply it seems my car moved as I selected 1st so I can only assume that perhaps I didn't depress the clutch to 100% on! I had a few tussles with Davo in the other Lancia for something like 10th place and once past I just turned the boost up to 100% and tried as hard as I could to make up the lost time. By the time I got to 2nd Mael he was almost 20 seconds up the road, so opportunity wasted....The short reverse grid race felt like Da-ja-vu and once again as soon as I got through to 2nd place the race was over, sadly the timer run out as Bacchulum exited the hairpin so sadly for me the race ended 1 lap too soon, but never mind. The feature race was more of the same, starting 2nd last the Lancia struggled off the corners to be able to pass down the straights so it was a matter of just trying around the outside and inside of people and hoping they saw me and didn't run me wide. There was a couple of scary moments with an Escort who lost it's way out the back and nearly got me and for a little bit there I was starting to think I needed mower blades under the car as it felt like I was on the grass so much. I'm sure some of it was the pressure of knowing I was fast and wanting to get to the front as I put additional pressure on myself for making a meal of the first two races.... Eventually I got to 2nd and Mael was about 20 seconds in front, driving a brillant race. The gap would eb and flo but I'd resolved to coming 2nd until just short of the flag he pitted. Sadly that same lap I caught traffic and simply couldn't use all my speed to leap frog him, but once again, kudos on a well driven race as his little BMW was mighty quick!I must admit, everything aside, this is a wonderful mod and some seriously good track selections. The cars drive great and the variety in how each car performs is super cool! I just need to pay more attention to fuel as I finished the long race with 15ltrs still in the tank....oh well Logged rooshooter RestrictedRacing Hero Member Posts: 2882 Karma: 52 Re: S14 R3 - Zolder67 - 21/06/2018 « Reply #28 on: June 22, 2018, 10:01:01 AM » Congratulations to Mael, Bacchulum and BradC, and a very good race report too BradC. I also had the best races yet with this mod, in my Zakspeed Capri, and your car looming up in my mirrors at a very fast pace was unforgettable. I also find it very interesting how car selection is playing a big part in the fun factor/success rate for this series, something I did not think would matter that much . Next week will be interesting , I wonder what car I will use , I need to see Bacchulum or Phil post some lap times first . I probaby should have kept going as I didn'trealise there had been a second coming together. The Carma was quite dodgy under brakes. I managed to improve it a bit with some set up changes (mostly using Bacchulum's tip of rear toe out), but it was still easy to lock up. A lap or two earlier, Imp, I managed to just barely drift it around turn 1 after just passing you which was a) brilliant driving, or b) a stroke of luck, take your pick. I'm not sure now whether I was still out of control on re-entry after hitting the wall and sliding on the grass, but apologies to Gratulin just in case.
