As usual, you can vote for more than one option.
The season format will be 3 x sprints, progressive grid (set by last race finish).
We'll have a practice race in each car over the next couple of weeks.
The GPL '67 mod can be downloaded HERE (http://www.mediafire.com/file/sz9937gkwgkenhg/20190416+AC+1967+Grand+Prix+Legends+Mod+v2.20.rar). Link updated for 2.20.
The GPL mod has special installation notes for the Lotus 49 and Ferrari 312, which is to copy the original AC .kn5 file for these 2 cars into the GPL folder:

Well, there's my weekend sorted, need to test the update. 8)
(even though I don't drive McLaren, Eagle or Cooper :P )
-
It's heavily leaning towards the old F1's and it seems at least some know them very well. No idea about these '67 F1's and sorry about being a bit lazy maybe, but is there a consensus on which one is the fastest?
Think Ferrari is usually pretty good...so maybe that's the one to go for hoping that reliability is not modelled ;)
-
Thanks for the news, Roo.

IMHO, the BT24 is the quickest but not the easiest to drive.
The 312 & 49 are not far off.
The Eagle, Honda & BRM have good top end but are cumbersome.
The rest are the opposite, nimble but lacking a bit of top end.
Side note, I'd like to see Pau 67 & Deutschlandring on the schedule. ;)

Deutschlandring is already on the list. It's a beautiful track, made by the same guy who made Feldbergring.

Thanks mate :)
I've done just 2 or 3 laps in a few of them just on default last night. Got my best time in the Ferrari, but it was a very borderline ride...tricky oversteering. The Brabham (guess that's the BT24 - not sure) was 2nd, but got me a more controlled ride...I think the Honda was 3rd.
However, without working on the setup these numbers are probably useless.
They are fun and pretty fast as well. I believe the Escort would get us a lot more close racing in a series, but the old F1's are more fun imo...hotlapping at least.
-
Yeah, like I said the Brabham, Lotus & Ferrari are all pretty close, in my hands.
I think it will come down to driving style compatibility that will decide the quickest for any individual, opening the door for all cars.
(except possibly the smaller capacity Lotus 33 & McLaren M2B)

That's good info as it helps to narrow down the number of cars to spend some time on trying to work out a good setup. Doing that on all of them would be pretty time consuming.
There are pretty important bits and pieces hanging out at the back end of them just protected by a bit of steel tubing, if at all. I'd hope that the tussle and nudges during races are not causing too many issues with engine failures on top of ending up in the grass with these things.
Looking forward doing that test race with them.

This is what we will be hitting.

The Lotus and Ferrari show you how the colliders should look whereas the rest are a bit hit and miss.
-
Cheers for that mate. Both, the old F1's and the Escort are great fun to drive.
Again the Escort will probably get us closer racing...maybe more slipstream, which is a nice natural effect leading to closer battles for position.
I guess I'll just wait and see which one is more popular and just go for that (maybe the practice server will indicate that...not too many times for the Escort atm)...would be great to have 25 cars on the grid.
-
Killa, it's pretty much decided by the looks :)
70% towards F1
-
Monaco 66 is a good bit of fun but the ai is shite for the 67's, dodging cars in hay bails lol(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190423/be64015ab4a503c9ac3b3038f72be824.jpg)

Nice little video. This circuit may or may not be in the track list...

C'arn Wally, we want banks!
(later in the season when we have a handle on our cars, the bumps are.... challenging)
Great video that, I forgot how good that movie is. 8)
Image trying to get the current F1 field to do extra practice sessions against actors. :o
Good, clear footage of historic Monza as well.

I remember seeing a behind the scenes type thing on the making of Grand Prix and how they butchered up a Ford GT40 with cameras to get most of those shots.
Sacrilege. lol.
-
It was the only thing in the day fast enough to keep up, Rob. :D
-
Yeah I realize that Dave, but it is still sacrilege to do that to one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
I guess they converted back to original after filming. But it had been abused, molested and sullied and never felt good about itself afterwards. ;)

I re-discovered another track that is worthy of consideration, Thompson Rd (Singapore) GP.

I'm starting to like tracks with realistic vegetation.

I actually looked at Thompson already, but found it too slow and windy. But it is a nice jungle :)
I already have tracks picked out... think of it as waiting for Christmas Day :)
-
My surname is Thompson this track is Thomson. :P
-
Windy yes, but not so slow, mainly 3rd gear.
And that's where you can set up a pass, get them offline at the start of a combo. ;)
The kink-over-crest on the main straight can be a killer though. ;D
I'm not trying to dictate anything, just offering my knowledge of the 276 tracks I have. ;)
