There are so many choices on the market that I'm finding it hard to select something that ticks all the boxes.

I'd like to get a motion system but from what I gather unless I spend big bucks I won't ever get close so I figured this might be the next best option.  Below is a stock rig I'm considering.

This is my personal opinion.
I'd prefer the GTXtreme (which I have) for the following reason, the wheel mount.
It has mounts from each side as well as the front (over the feet) which gives a triangular geometry.
Nothing between the legs to hinder right foot braking (if you do that).
It's so solid my Buttkicker under the seat stuffed my FFB motor in my wheel from the vibrations (pitted the bearing races ).
And it appears to be cheaper.

It may have a larger footprint though.

The RS1 looks solid though (if a tad overpriced).

I would consider the GTxtreme as the extra's are a lot cheaper to, or go the GTultimate again the extra's are cheaper.

I totally agree with Bacchulum. You don't want a post between your legs. That's the only thing I don't like about mine. I can right foot break and heel toe if I had to. But I constantly am hitting the bar with my shins.

Nice try Dick, cheap race seat is correct I remember you even showed us a pic of it a while back. 

The only camera I have is my phone and buggered if I can get the photos off it.

Another best-ever-mod I have done to my race rig is lift it up about 6 inches so I'm not getting up off the ground every time I get in and out of it.
  How many guys here still use the computer desk / computer chair combo? It makes a huge difference to immersion and comfort having a seat. Go get one!!
  I think Marty has got a fancy seat? Hard to believe Guybrush uses keyboard only and stands up at his desk to race.

Mr Bacchulum, your buttkicker. Do you rate it? Bit gimmicky? Or is it pretty convincing and you wouldn't race without it?

It would be OK for FPS explosions and the like.
In the car it constantly vibrates with the engine with no real extra kick for curbs (which is what I was after )
Overall not worth it IMHO.
Can't even use it any more as it destroys my wheel bearings.

Maybe I'll stick it on the couch for movies.....

I've solved that solid-floor problem with a rug...

I need the wheels, otherwise it's rather hard to get off the chair.  I just don't want to roll around all the time.  I've looked at proper-ish solutions, there was one which has locked the chair to the desk and/or pedal via a metal installment, but it was rather costly, and it's more hassles when I want a quick race.

I think we've been here before; there are some of us who needs the desk-setup for work.  We simply can't have everything - no cockpit for us.

That's really interesting cause I'm in the process of deciding if I want some buttkickers.

Do you have the sim vibe software with it? How many do you have?

I was going to get 7x mini LTE's. Four for each corner and one under pedals, one under the shifter and one behind the seat.

So you're saying you can't feel the curbs at all? because that's a big reason why I'm getting it as well.

BTW I ended up getting the RSeat and it's journey to Australia has started. It's a whooping 60kg.
