I would like to use this combo as an intro to this era of racing, with the hope of a season to follow, all comments welcome :).
Car and track, all thanks to Seanus :) :) 8) 8)
Car :
Alfa Romeo Tipo B Monoposto 'P3'

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo_P3
Track:
Autodrome de Linas Montlhery

Circuit Mygale please Seanus. Approx 1m40s/lap and challenging and should give close racing.
-
Good choice with Mygale, was a bit worried the other layouts were too long.
Had do some QC to that layout though so if you have the track please redownload it.
-
Where did you get your tyres from Roo?
I can only choose (C)ontinental & (E)nglebert, it looks like you have (V)intage. ???
A special sponsorship deal?
-
Updates, updates, updates. :P :P :P

I am getting a track error Seanus: possible "track has no start position".
-
Online or offline Roo? I can get online.
Also I've sent Roo to the back of the timing sheet, although I would have thought the new tyres should be quicker than the old!

Both offline and online Seanus , track error when loading.
I will reinstall track again and see , hang 5.

Still get error " problem with track avatar" is the message plus other stuff.

I deleted and reinstalled track and all good now Seanus, sorry :-[
-
Looks like Roo has worked out how to slow this beast down. ;)
Have you been talking to Danny Ric?

See if you can get the same time with the latest version (I can't). Added yaw drag, check the graphs in ptracker and you can see how smooth my velocity through the fast kinks is, but also how much speed I also lose!!!
Version: 20200920

1m 40.3 s is the best I can do now Seanus.

Sorry I meant 01:40.179 ;D ;D ;D

Reset the lap times, car version is now 20200922.2

What are you trying to fix Seanus, it's not broken as far as I am concerned ;D ;D ;D
-
;) Finally the server has times with us in the same iteration of car, but look at the two fast sweepers.
why or how can they be so different? Also that little jump in speed just before braking at the end of the back straight?
-
Why is it so ? ;D
-
My Guess is 1, Roo has a slight 'breathe' of the throttle to minimize slide, and 2, that's a quirk of the sTracker speed trace algorithm (I've seen this little 'jump' with many cars, on many tracks).

You would regularly see the hump in Kcenders (and others) fast laps, suggesting that a smooth transition from gas to brake (bit of coast) can be beneficial instead of just jamming on the brake from full throttle. It's possible a programming thing and something to consider in an attempt to get good lap times, slow is smooth....blah
-
Looking again at the little jump, it does seem more like an artifact of the curve smoothing. For the fast sweepers I guess I'll be able to see what Roo is doing there on Thurs as at this rate I won't be in front of him. :o

or it's "the hack" ..... :-X ::) >:( :o ;D
-
A hack probably, but one that is programmed into it, to reward smooth driving (weight transfer, tyre grip etc).
