Ed and I tested it a little did half a lap in the Alfa then found the jump, that was the last of the alpha laps but got it airborne a bit  ;D. We then drove some Exos, the one on the server is the s1. Alfa seems pretty odd default setup but I will post a setup later once Ive run some laps in it as I didnt even complete one proper lap in it.

The standard is probably easier to drive but the s1 has better tyres so less understeer and quicker laps in the 44's. Also noticed on the practice server tyre wear is off so the s1 was actually slower with the SS never getting to 100% grip should be able to do 43's with tyre wear on I think on a good lap.

I'll try to be there...
that exos seems to be the odd one out here, though

I'd actually prefer the Lamborghini Miura to the Exos if it is up to it handling wise. That is a better match for the other cars style and era wise. I don't think we can sensibly run the Exos in the same race as the Cobra and Alfa even if we run separate classes.

The Miura is a much better car then the Alpha in terms of physics. Also quite likely alpha will have no LOD's so a large field will grind even the best computers to a hault. Every other rip conversion I have dloaded has suffered from this LOD issue and this makes them not suitable for large fields. I havent properly tested that mod though but anyone can load an ai grid with them at the backbof the grid and see at what number of ai things go bad. Barbagallo I can run 30 AI in official cars or qualuty scratch made mods, poor rips it will start to grind at much lower numbers.

It is just a fun nite and test after all and if not the exos then maybe an older official f1 car. There are a few of them to choose.

Are we doing three races, one in each car?

I have done a few laps in the alfa and I like it, after a bit of playing with the setup, I would prefer
we stay away from the open wheelers as at 65 years of age my reflexes can no longer do justice to these cars and
these are meant to be FUN nights , my pick would be the F40 . I will try a grid full of Alfas on my pc and let you know the result.
I did a test with a grid of 22 cars and noticed a drop of approx 22fps between the alfa and the cobra but was still playable. I was at the back of the grid but I am only running 1920 x1080. My system is
an i5 with gtx660 not ocled.

My idea was to run all 3 cars in each of the 3 races. Each car would form it's own class. ie  just class winners. It would mean letting other car classes overtake just like in WEC. Don't know if this is workable but it is a fun run?

So each race you just randomly choose what car you want, provided you drive all three?

That was the idea - do you think it will work?

I suppose if the number of cars available are limited, so that everyone can't choose the same car in race 1, for example, it would work and be fun. We will need ferito LiveTracker for blue flags though.

heads up, the miura d/l is broken - I guess because it would point to v0.8.1
I've found the v0.8.2 googling, I can put it up on dropbox for convenience...
Actually, here are all the downloads
Track
barbagallo-release-v1.1.rar

Cars
AlfaRomeoTZ2_beta0.9.rar
Lamborghini_Miura_P400SV_v0.8.2.rar

Ps I've run a couple of laps in the miura....it's mental :)   1:09.87
also; the alfa is very weirdly packed, you need to go down one directory to get to the real car directory

Let me correct that statement.   The miura is slightly crazy, the Alfa is mental :)   1:06.81  but I cant slow it down properly yet.  The brake balance is utterly off, btw, you need it around 55%.
