Assetto Corsa / Re: AC V1.0.1 (with Ruf Yellowbird) Released« on: December 26, 2014, 09:00:18 AM »
I was in masochist mode: H-shifter and clutch, 90's street tyres, default boost. I was babying the car around, and if I proffered more than a queef to the throttle, the rear would come around. I know it's my own shortcomings and not the car's. It's not a car I would choose to drive for fun.
I'll try semislicks and 10% boost... i.e. granny mode. 8987

I mean cars that were actually designed to not have the rear of the car trying to overtake the front at every opportunity.

Not an easy car to drive, again (on street tyres, at least). Honestly... were all cars of this era such crap to drive? Or were men just men back then?

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Season 5 Open Wheeler Time Travel: Season Info and Driver Sign Up« on: December 24, 2014, 12:39:20 PM »Yes please! That was quick. The ink isn't even dry yet! I know there are regulars - but I didn't want to pre-sign anyone up. I also stuck with the 3 sprint format, rather than mixing up race lengths, as I'm anticipating some spread out fields, and more race starts gives us more opportunities to re-bunch the field. 8994

Race 1 was brilliant, in a bumper to bumper Flattop, Vipergod, Wally, Gratulin train until Flattop had an off, Vipergod and I got passed, I passed Vipergod into the ”wiggly bits” but had to brake with the narrowing corners. That was probably my fault, eyes lit up at the passing opportunity, but then had to brake too soon.
Race 2 I made too many mistakes. I think I needed a little more rear downforce in hindsight. I lost the tear a couple of times, and a couple of times the kerbs spat me off the track. I had some fun chasing RPM in the dying stages, but his Beemer was ultimately too much for me and he pulled away. I think the handicapping worked well, looking at the lap times which are fairly nicely bunched up. Thanks to everyone who participated and made it a great racing community. 8998
