Mod Cars / McLaren MP4/4
« on: January 30, 2017, 04:14:52 PM »
I've only done a handful of laps but nothing felt out of place and I was left with a big smile on me dial. ;D ;D
Had to be real careful until the tyres got up to pressure.

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Aleph Null Ltd Expands
« on: January 10, 2017, 01:11:19 AM »
Due to increased investment from our major sponsor, Man Cave Print & Laser, Aleph Null Ltd has expanded to include a sister team.
This team will be named Continuum Racing and will be headed by long time Aleph Null driver, Chap.
He will be joined by new signing, Doobs.

Chap will be replaced in Aleph Null by MG who will race along side team founder, Bacchulum.

We are currently discussing livery options with the authorities but would like to run all cars identical.

There's no comment at the moment but there may be further developments.......

General Discussion / Video Conversion Guru Needed
« on: September 22, 2016, 06:20:51 PM »
I have a .ISO 'disc image' of some old F5000 races but I haven't worked out how to see them yet.
I tried a free conversion app a while a go but all I got was the menu screen, while the audio went through the races. (radio only :()
I don't want to buy something just for one file, so I was wondering if there was anybody who could convert this file into something I could watch. ???
(plus I'm a bit stupid at these things)
Obviously, willing to share the results with everybody interested in F5000.
(please let there be one person who can help)

Real Life Motorsport / Formula Thunder 5000
« on: April 22, 2016, 02:04:28 PM »
Formula 5000 is coming back!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
(hopefully)

"The brainchild of historic Formula 5000 racer Chris Lambden, the proposed category has been dubbed Formula Thunder 5000.
It will utilise a Swift-designed, Australian-built evolution of a chassis originally created for Formula Nippon, fitted with a locally developed 5.0 litre Ford Coyote based V8 engine.
A prototype car is currently in the final stage of build at Borland Racing Developments’ workshop in Melbourne ahead of initial track testing.
Working on the project for almost two years, Lambden hopes that today’s public launch will draw firm orders for cars, which are expected to cost around $240,000 each.
The category’s centrepiece will likely be a seven-round Tasman Series across New Zealand and Australia each December/January."

Mod Cars / Formula Corsa FF1 2015
« on: January 24, 2015, 10:38:25 AM »
From the creators of FC2 (GP2 mod) comes Formula Fantasy 1 (guess which series :-X):
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/ff1-2015.4941/
Car models are to the 2015 rules (as yet unreleased cars) with 2014 skins.
Makes full use of DRS and ERS (although I haven't tried the ERS function yet).
Quality is Formula Corsa standard, excellent. 8)

Assetto Corsa / Steam Expert Required
« on: July 24, 2014, 06:56:48 PM »
Can I change the location of my Assetto Corsa folder?
I need to move it onto a different drive with more space but I don't want to screw it up, and Steam and I have never got along.

I thought I'd open a thread for Steam questions, as opposed to AC, for noobs like me. :-[

Real Life Motorsport / The Racers Edge
« on: February 14, 2014, 08:12:18 PM »
This is a great show by Peter Windsor about all things F1, past and present.
Low budget but some very knowledgable guests such as Craig Scarborough (technical) and Rob Wilson (driver coach).
Feeds and audio quality sometimes 'vary' but it has improved since F1Racing mag came on board.
It makes a nice change from the commercial point of view.

Spam / Is Bacchulum A Dickhead?
« on: October 11, 2013, 01:26:22 PM »
The back story:

On Monday I turned on my 60" Samsung TV of 8 months of age to find an entire row of pixels AWOL.
In my rage I immediately went into warranty mode to get it replaced ASAP.
Organised the day (today) to have them come around, no problem.

BUT, the people that came today are only here to take my TV and confirm the problem.
They then file a report and someone else is then instructed to deliver (I hope) the replacement.

So now I have no TV on Bathurst 1000 & Suzuka F1 weekend.

Dead set dickhead I reckon.

The latest news:

Time to make some clarification about the rumours related to pre-orders. We confirm we worked on this matter in the last two months. When we supposed that the entire process was almost ready to be started, our lead programmer unofficially confirmed on his personal twitter account that pre-orders would start very soon. This was supposed to be true. Sadly, in our Country the laws related to e-commerce are very complicated and inadequate for the digital distribution. At the last minute, just a couple of days before to launch the pre-order, we have been informed about some additional documentation and rules that don't allow us to start the pre-order phase already set. This has nothing to do with Steam nor with the development of the game, it's just burocracy. We understand you can be disappointed about it, but well, you can figure how much we are too. Anyway, if we made any mistake or lack in communication, we apologise for it. Everyone can make mistakes, we are not better than any other.

Now we are working on a different strategy, with the aim to meet -as soon as possible - your wishes and our needs. As soon as we are able to give you more information, we'll update you with more details, through our official channels. Meanwhile, thank you for your kind patience and support.
