Light at the end of the tunnel
« on: February 10, 2014, 02:33:57 PM »
I just won my first race  ;D

A group of 4 drivers got away at the front, i was happy to keep clean and finish 4th, but the 2 guys leading were banging into each other so it was only a matter of time... they took each other out, then the guy leading spun by himself and i cruised to a win... I'm just about to have another time trial and i should get my SR above 3 and i can graduate :)
Cheers

Steve

Well done mate, they certainly brain wash you into not hitting other drivers and keeping it clean as well. Sometimes you have to remind yourself you are a race.... I guess that's what makes the heart get pumping.

Thanks Simone, I'm not the fastest but I'm the most persistent!
As I'm currently retired I'm having fun being able to just drop in for some races, slowly crawling up the classes.
The Mazda and SCCC ate more my speed and I can mix it with all levels.
I sat in with Glen today with one his TT at Phillip Island liked good and fast.
Love the sound and the dopler effects when it is flat out across the start finish line from the spectator's perspective and it passes from the head on growl snapping to the rear sound

As the Mrs is away on business for the week, i jumped in the hyper on Sunday to spend some time doing TT's to get my SR rating up. I was happily suprised when as soon as my session ended i was immediately upgraded to a Class D road license :) i was expecting to have to wait until the 21'st to be promoted....

I immediately went on a spending spree and bought Bathurst, Phillip Island and the Ruff Porsches  ;D

The one thing the Porsche did was reinforce my steering problems, i couldn't drive up mountain straight in a straight line. So today i dropped off the Hyper steering wheel and pedals for a refurb, Hyper have new high resolution pots and a firmware update for the USB interface, I'm hoping to have them back in time for Thursdays HistorX round, then you'll see me in iRacing much more if this cures my issues. Hyper run iRacing at their race centre so i'm pretty sure all should be OK.... Fingers crossed.

So now i have a few days of sitting around not being able to drive, it's killing me cuz i'm home by myself and i could be getting some serious seat time while SWMBO is away...
Cheers

Steve

I was worried your spending money for nothing but I feel better that they run iracing meaning it can be and 8 being done with a hyper wheel.
