Title: Thomson Road New track from Fat-Alfie---looks really cool
Post by: grat on February 10, 2017, 10:12:31 AM
I think it is still not fps optimized for 20+cars, but looks amazing! Will try it soon:

Nice find Grat, that is a impressive road course.  Looks ideal for a Thursday night enduro!

From the creator:
Quote
The track features a well detailed 500,000 tri physical mesh, is ready for AI races (with 24 grid spaces), Hot Lapping and Time Attack. It has been optimised to run as well as possible, with various levels of detail and careful use of textures and materials. I have added a dynamic racing line and tyre marks, static track-side details such as rubber debris and leaf litter, as well as a few dynamic objects ;) Oh, and camera set 2 is by @norbs and the old cars in the undergrowth are by Kunos :D

and this makes it look even better (http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z25/Fat-Alfie_photos/Assetto%20Corsa/Screenshot_ks_alfa_romeo_gta_thomson_27-1-117-17-17-7.jpg)

Just enjoyed my free Friday morning on it with the Alfa GTA. As said, fps were really on the limit, so we'll need to wait for an update to try it for a fun night, and some graphical objects have no physical mesh, but otherwise it is an amazing track and the road physical mesh is beautifully done. Highly suggested.

PS: Fat-Alfie is also the guy behind the now disappeard bilsterberg track (a must have for a track day with slower cars, if you like elevation changes). Track is not available online anymore (he sold the finished version to the track owners themselves) but some of us have the practically finished beta, if you need.

I tried to put this track up with the Alfas on my home server but I cannot get it to work anymore  :-\ :-\ and being clueless in such matters
I had to give up. Did some laps around the track though, it reminds me of Dirt 2  ;D ;D

We've been running this over at ARSE for the last couple of Friday Night Funs and it's a brilliant track (had 9 or so people on server, running smooth). Rumble in the Jungle!!  :D

Hey StanDaam, good to see you're still lurking :)

Very nice track. I like the attention to detail like the leaves on the side of the track in some corners. I'd definitely like to have a race here some time.
