As Wally said, I made a lot of mistakes last night. I had a cracker of a race with Joe in race 1 but after that it was a bit of a case of far too furious and simply not fast enough. In both race 2 and 3 I had some silly spins which in the moment came from out of the blue and were not expected and my results reflect this. I took a punt on a shorter diff ratio for the final race which allowed me to get an awesome start, but meant I was far too high in the rev range in a couple of the slower speed corners which resulted in more spins.

I don't get how freezer was so fast after just a couple of laps.. I couldn't get close. I'm using one of Bacc's setups from a few races ago so I'd like the blame the setup but I think it's just I'm getting slower  :o

His times had me scratching my head too, they were mighty impressive! It took me about 10 laps before I could event enter the 22’s and I think the bulk of my times was lost in the snake from turn 1 to the back straight. Once I worked out the rhythm of that sector I found the time, but tyre deg over a full tank run is massive

See next track... burst out in tears  :-[

It's not an easy one that's for sure  ;) Far too easy to make mistakes in that Maggots, Beckets, Chapel section and then the Istanbull turn 9 in the wrong direction is just as difficult.....least alone factoring in worn tyres, not spinning is going to yeild far better results than outright lap times this week.

Sorry just saw the question on sparks and ride height. Mine was stock ride height.

Don’t stress mate, seanus gave some technical justification which basically said that it wasn’t relevant  ;D

I really struggled with spins in the slow, 1st gear corners. I find breaking in this car hard at the best of times, but the downshifting to 1st really killed me, kicking the rear out. And of course the more I spun, the sadder the rear tyres got.

I experienced the 1st gear spinning thingy in testing and found that braking longer before downshifting at a much lower rpm with a decent throttle blip fixed this. That rear tyre issue did my head in during my disastrous round 1 where I did a lot of spinning and found that the tyres took a decent calm lap or two before they could be leant on again. These certainly are challenging beasts to drive.

I can’t believe how much of an influence the wind direction and speed made to these cars. The greatest differences I noticed was in race 1 I could hit the limiter just before turn 1 but the infield right handers were tricky, then in race 2 the wind made gave so much grip in these same right handers and in the last race I could only get 2/3 into the rev range before turn 1! There wasn’t a lot of difference in the ultimate last times but how you made the lap times changed during the night which made the driving rather difficult and extremely challenging. Despite what the results say, I found this night rather difficult and was driving on a knifes edge every lap to extract my speed. In the final race I had a little spin in the infield section and Joe was able to capatolise from my mistake and I ran out of laps to try and catch him.

What ride height are you running Freezer? It looked like you were bottoming out in the banking in the middle of the banked corner as your car was throwing up the most awesome sparks!

It’s a rather tricky track….there seems to be heaps of time to be found at turn one but it’s also the hardest corner on the track!

Apologies to do this, but I've had a change of direction for my skin....having a lawn mowing business as my main sponsor influenced my driving way too much so we've parted ways, I've headed back to my more traditional colours  ;D

Until I saw the track map, I was getting excited that we were going to be racing on an oval

That's nothing to get excited about  :o :-X

It’s the little things I guess, each to their own….its been well over 10 years since I can remember doing an oval race and I can’t remember ever doing one here at XGN…..

I see trouble for the left tyres again  :P

I wonder if Seanus can enginereer some asymmetrical tyres for these things....?
