Was happy with qualifying and dont know if anyone saw the replay of race one, but leaving softs on shot me off the line making up a number of positions to sit in 3rd, the wonders of softs soon wore off as the field passed by lap by lap.

Grubbets lag really hurt, i was held up because i just couldnt see where he was, one moment im just about to run up the back of him, next frame hes already around the corner. Are we able to pop a ping cap in for next season Wally?  Auto retire for high pingers would be good, i know i dont want to be doing the same to others.

Race two, first corner chaos, i played it very safe sitting up the inside of the first corner, after the corner i was side punted off the track which i was already sitting on the side of to avoid chaos and spun back onto the track, it was a massive mess. I didnt bother running the rest of the race, my setup was a slightly modded stock config that wasnt doing the job. Game of Thrones somehow seemed better at this point.

Great season, no mic no voice, hopefully be alive and kicking next season, hopefully put some practice in before the event.

Thanks again Wally your a legend for all the work you put in and the fact we just rock up and race, i certainly dont take it for granted, so thank you once again.

Thanks all for a great season.

First of all I have to say very very nice setup Guy,  I didnt touch a thing and whilst a little light on the backend the ability to throw the car around was excellent, with great straightline speed too.

Race 1,  "Where the hell did Mopz come from ! is what im calling it" Had some slight early on battle with Mopz, as usual the sound of Moppsy's angry determination caused me to get tail happy and we settled into our positions. To finish third with only a little bit of practice on the night was a good result.

Race 2,  " Qualified in the 10s so was happy with that, as usual moppsy taking away a few ms. Having no clutch gave me a piss poor off the line start, then got tail happy once again under pressure, gotta learn to predict force feedback, my wheel "Driving Force Logitech, just hit its 10th birthday!" doesnt have any force feed back since win8.

Had a few mishaps on T1, sorry to someone i took out T1, i came in hot as I was scando flicking to keep speed through that one, i clipped someone as i didnt expect such a slow down.  I got bored and started pushing pushing and made a few mistakes.

Great drive Mopz and Marty, darn your on fire Marty there was no way i was getting in the 9s! Consistent low times during the race too, perfect drive, ppppsssst wheres your next setup :)

And hell no frame drops and system was silky smooth, must be all those trees at monza !

Assetto Corsa / Is Assetto multiplayer really ready?
« on: June 11, 2014, 08:04:35 PM »
Excluding my unexpected packet error (other people have had same issue yet no fix for it), I'm wondering if this season will be more about watching Assetto fix its bugs than racing, its still fun, but the dog frame rates really are an issue, some parts of the track it was more about predicting where I would be in future frames :) than racing.

I run two 7950s in crossfire on 3 screens with an i5 3570k with 24gb ram, if i setup a race and pack it maximum cars on the grid, i can play a silky smooth race with pretty good graphics quality and im seeing double frame rates when i used crossfire.  In multilayer mode is another world, I actually turn off crossfire for multiplayer, i seem to get smoother game play yet less frame rate if that makes sense, with crossfire its patches of silky smooth and then where the hell did that corner go, oh there it is.

Whats killing frame rates? I think its all go to do with multiplayer coding, not the server its hosted on etc,  Has anyone checked CPU usage on multiplayer mode? I havent checked, but youd think my CPU would still be up to the job.

Contemplating grabbing an old harddrive and moving over to win7 for gaming, win8 just aint there yet.  anyone else running win8 and Assetto ?

Ive followed a few guides on setting up crossfire somethings helped, but multilayer kicks its ass.

yeh ive noticed most games aim to please nvidia first then ATI.  Im running win 8.1 too so that could have something to do with it.

You could run mineral oil :)  Some people and companies are dropping their PCs and servers into mineral oil and then just running a watercooling radiator off the side.   Intel is actually doing tests with data centers with no reported issues hardware wise and 1/10 cost of cooling.  crazy stuff, bit messy god help you when you need to move it.

Hi Guys,

Im running two 7950s with 3 monitors on Assetto. Ive spent quiet a bit of time fine tuning with Assetto and I have to say while in testing crossfire will double your frame rate, the game itself doesnt seem ready.  Racing last night i switched out of crossfire and was rewarded with smoother game play, all be it at lower frame rates.  Im not on beta drivers, but the latest stable. There must be some overhead in crossfire thats cutting into assetto, im sure they will iron this out. But im only seeing this in multiplayer.  Im running SSD and can tell you we are not seeing load related slowdowns, its programming and drivers.   BF3 on 3 monitors maxed out on crossfire is smooth as silk, so i think in the coming months we will see silky smooth assetto.

Anyone else running crossfire ?  would like to know your settings.

Assetto Corsa / Re: Racer Introductions

Hi Guys,

My real name is Jesse from Brisbane, 38, Girfriend no kids, but 24 pets !! I work in the wonderful world of IT as a sysadmin / network admin (nerd min) for the last 10 years.  Enjoy golf, reefkeeping and gambling bitcoins and blow.

Got into Indy car on my old amiga back in the early 90s and was hooked.  Then played lots of gran turismo and then onto rfactor, netkar, lfs.

Online racing has really picked up over the last 5 years or so and the level of skill has jumped right up, i used to enjoy pole positions and many race wins, now im happy if i qualify and finish up in the top 10.

Raced one season on here last year, fantastic race environment, well organized by Wally, everyone's helpful no massive egos flying about.

My aim, keep up with Wally lol,  my problems, i cut and run wide a bit, pull me up on it if you see me doing this!  if your faster Ill always let ya through no use taking two out of the race for holding a position.   Love the rain, hope Assetto brings weather!

Pet hates, being clipped by cars re-entering the track, only takes a second to check if someones coming.

Great to see a real mix of ages on here.

C u on the track.
