Do you guys really feel you need this level of gfx power?  I mean I could drive 3x24 screens (1200px height, 7mp) with 2x970's with ease (AC running at 100-150fps).   A UHD monitor is 8.3 mp so it'll be about the same.   Unless you run 3x UHD screens (why?!?) you don't need these cards.  Plus, I'm not sure what CPU power you need to actually drive it properly...probably a lot. :)

Exactly! I stop being fascinated by the infamous"pc upgrade" long time ago. These cards are a completely waste of money and time

I'm gonna wait until the "GTX1080ti hybrid" (or whatever they call it) comes out before I look at upgrading.  ;D

Keep in mind this is pricing for the "Founders" edition, which from memory was about US$100 more expensive.

The rest is "Australia tax".  Seriously though, I think the 1070 is the card to get, but I'd be waiting until AMD release their next gen cards and we should see prices start to fall along with early adopters no longer keeping those prices sustainable.

"Lurker Alert", "Lurker Alert"!

I will be waiting for a good price for a curved screen that is the equivalent of triples, then upgrade.  But we will all benefit from the fight for this round of new generation cards, waiting for the dust to settle...

GPU utilization only sitting at 51% for AMD.

Thats RX480 8GB in crossfire sitting just below the 1080, still cheaper than one 1080. I think AMD have done some real development with GPU's.
