Fixed now - it was the track, which had had an update since we last raced here.
All good now thanks Wally :).

Great nights racing, if there is a vote, I say we pick our own car for the season.  There seemed to be a decent variation of cars and different tracks may offer up different strengths.  TBH, the main issue is having to do multiple setups :)

Good fun night!

I must say I haven't felt that much difference between each car, but the Brabham's powertrain was more sensitive, I had red engine blinks regularly - this did not happen in the fezza nor the lotus.
I'll still have to try a couple, though.

The season will be interesting, these cars aren't easy to keep going straight...

Didn't finish any of the races but cars seem fun. Probably would have helped practicing a little before the night. I do love the escorts but think these would be a nice change.

Good night of racing guys. Had a lot of fun.
Well done to KCender for the wins.
I'd loved to have stuck around for the third race and tried another car but was getting a bit late.  I learnt my lesson in the second race not to make too many setup adjustments to a car you haven't driven before!  Was good fun trying to tame the beast though.

Cheers.

Race 1
Got hit, damaged suspension, hit wall, dead engine, 5 minute repair.
Race 2
A couple of personal errors, otherwise a good race.
Race 3
Got hit, damaged suspension, hit wall, dead engine, 5 minute repair.

2+2=√16

It was worth the wait, being in the middle of a 20 car grid in these icons of F1 was an unreal experience ;D ;D ;D 8) 8) 8). I was lucky to get 2 races in without incident and was very happy with where I finished. I watched the replay of race 2 and I have to give a big thumbs up to Rob who drove a great race while under pressure and only faltered very near the finish. I enjoyed sitting in with kcender and watch him come back from an incident and still win :o. For me a very enjoyable night :).

Not a lot of practice for me and found the cars not quite in my comfort zone!!  However as the night went on
I did start to get a feel for it.
Got caught up in tangles in races 1 & 2, but race 3 saw me slip through and head up towards the pointy end however
a wheel on the grass late in the race saw me spin and (apologies) get collect by the next few cars coming through.

As for damage, I did get some early hits that didn't obviously effect the car however in both race 2 & 3 on around lap 8 I started to get
smoke from the rear and a lap later engine gone!  Was that my driving or accumulated damage?

I really enjoyed the racing last night. I tried the Lotus and found it quite loose to drive from the apex onwards which was right up my alley.  In race 1 I managed to go from 14th to 7th in a lap and then proceeded to run out of talent and go head first into the wall at the final corner about 5 laps later as the faster guys regrouped and marched back up to the front....Race two wasn't much better, but I had some good laps dueling with Mael until I caught a tow off his Honda just as I entered the braking area at the end of the back straight and went grass cutting at mak2!

Whilst I didn't manage to finish a single race without destroying the car, it concentration killing fun  :o! Knowing how brutal and fragile these cars are made me take a totally different (possibly a little more cautious) approach to my driving and I liked it....In race 3 I had a little go in the Brabham but I couldn't come to terms with it's lack of speed and handling compared to the Lotus. More testing is required I'm sure but at the moment I'm really loving the Lotus

It was some good racing. Sorry about the mess up at the start of race two and that bit of a nudge in race 3, Wally.
I've just done a few laps in some other cars at Watkins Glen and figured the only other option besides the Ferrari would be the Lotus 49 for me. It took me 8 laps with just an average setup to get within 0.8s of my best in the Ferrari (done about 100 laps in this one). Strangely enough the Lotus and the Eagle were getting me a higher top speed at the end of the long straight.
Btw the cable of my headset got eaten by my vacuum cleaner and damaged so I'm using a spare one with a broken mic...that's why I'm so quiet.
