Tried an undercut on the second stop but didnt quite make it and continued my battle with Gratulin up until the point he went wide and into the very solid hay bails  ;D

Came across Gratulin's incident with the "hay bales"  ;D I suspect they actually solid bedrock bales made to be fed to some fire breathing dragons or something.

I am impressed by those who can write up a report, I go into some sort of a zone and don't  know what has happened by the end :)

Thats why i normally write a tuesday report straight after the race otherwise I forget.

After me "kissing" the hay bales I went back to the pits. Then I saw "THE FLATTOP" running in 5th so watched him for the last 5 or so laps. He had Seanus on his tail but held it together for a solid finish. Very stressful just watching - I wanted to egg him on but didn't dare disturb!!??

haha thanks Andrew, man I doubt if I would have heard you I was concentrating hard!  I was watching "a car" getting closer, but I opted for "tyres are worn, have plenty of fuel, keep my lines, he can't overtake!" it worked.

Did i say "10 points"?  ;D

The highlight of this race, for me, was the return to form for Flattop Bruce, finishing in the top 5, well done Bruce. I spent 10 laps getting my tyre pressures right only to forget to save them. With about 8 laps remaining lost concrentation for a fraction of a second and spent the rest of the race on my own ( this happens to everyone Shameless) and is a function of track and car combo and driver ability.
Still really like the Escort though.

yeah I wasn't the only one.  It happens quite a bit with long fast tracks.  I started off slow and managed to avoid the carnage in the first few corners, but the track soon took its toll on my tyres under brakes I had trouble pulling up.. had to pit around lap 13 and it was a lonely race to the finish.  I'll start recording the replay and get the video done over the weekend.

Thanks for the races, I am enjoying it.

However, if it's just a fun night setup for casual racing and non-league rules, then why have a point system and compulsory pit-stops for the faster drivers? IMO - Either keep the rules the same as league or drop them all together, otherwise you might as well call thursday nights a "Thursday Night League".

Either way - Looking forward to the next race. Hopefully more drivers can stay on the track :)

it is a Thursday night league, Just more casual than Tuesdays and we are not frightened to experiment, The season has always had older cars since I have been around and IMO gives the guys a chance to have some fun who are put off by Tuesday been a bit more serious and the cars often been to fast/hard to drive

My aim is to have a season somehow one day that with a selection of a few cars for different drivers anyone could win, If that means we pick an older car for most to drive but to make it even a few drive maybe, maybe not a handicap car that maybe or may not be slightly more modern car. But i would like to find all older classics instead of to modern.
I am also taking on board everything everyone has to say with interest.
If I am on the wrong track with this ultimate plan for world domination close racing someone tell me :)

A separate question. How much talking are allowed during the race? I know in the Tuesday league speaking during the race is a hanging offense but not sure if its frown upon in the Thursday runs.

Secondly can we have a change in the blue flag rule? Currently the car being lapped has to make way ideally without costing the leaders any time. I would prefer it to be that the car being lapped has to stay on the racing line and not try to get out of the way. Obviously they should not actively defend their position but it should be the leaders responsibility to pass safely. The reason for this (again more obvious in the Tuesday races) is that once the backmarker's is caught they lose so much time getting out of the way that their race is basically over!

Since we doing classic cars we could even do away with the blue flag completely since the tough old codgers did not need it way back then  ;D

You can read my mind Phil, this was my aim with the "Rooshooters mixed bag" season. Thursdays are still a serious racing league but with less
bureaucracy, I believe we are still on the right track, thank you for your patience.

Totally agree. Also would bunch up field a bit.

PS. Not sure I agree with the old codgers comment. They were young once  :D
