Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / S20R1: Tor Poznan
« on: December 13, 2017, 10:48:34 PM »
Season 20 kicks off with the BMW M235i at Tor Poznan (download), in Poland.

3 sprints, as per the signup thread. Weather may be different for all three races.

The practice server is up.

Interesting that Shayne tapped me from behind both races but his impact speeds are 8k & 6k slower than my impacts. How does that work?
These are impacts reported by the server, and they're never 100% equivalent i.e. if Shayne hits you at 8 kph, then that doesn't mean you hit Shayne at 8 kph as well. I guess it might come down to the two different game clients reporting slightly different speeds.

It's one of the cars I voted for so I'm not complaining :)

Hey Wally, your probably already set on tracks but after watching the BTCC today I went looking for and found this
Oulton Park - https://actrackrebootproject.wixsite.com/ac-track-re-boot/oulton-park
Fast, flowing and undulating circuit which I recall we used a bit in the Rf days . . . food for thought!
Me likee!
It's better than the other version we had. I think I'll add it.

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Season 20 start - Dec 19
« on: December 12, 2017, 10:35:55 PM »
This is a heads up that the season will start next Tuesday - the 19th.

Then Dec 26 Boxing Day will be just a non-season fun run for those that are awake/sober/motivated enough to jump on and have a race.

Then the season will resume on Tue Jan 2.

I voted for the Porsche and the BMW, because they gave the closest racing in my opinion, which is always what I prefer. One way you can look at the closeness of the racing is the "Busiest" stat for the last 4 races, which shows the smallest average gap to neighbouring cars, front and back.

The smallest average gaps were:
BMW - 1.90 secs
Porsche - 2.15 secs
Lotus - 3.61 secs
KTM - 6.40 secs

I preferred the Porsche because it gave close racing, but wasn't quite as easy as the BMW. It was easier for those around me to make mistakes, which lead to more position changes. Also, the tyres actually go off in the Porsche, whereas the BMW and Lotus tyres are much harder wearing without much degredation over the course of the race.

Not very much (and not very good). 8)
No, you can see he's using a keyboard. But I reckon the lighting looks quite good, especially the way it illuminates the trees.

Assetto Corsa / Re: Best wishes to Flattop
« on: December 12, 2017, 04:17:30 PM »
My suggestion is, since the Pat Phillips cup is about full, we start a new one in memory of Bruce.
I would like to propose we now call Thursday Fun Nights, Flattop Thursdays as a permanent memorial.
I'd like to see the Pat Phillips Cup continue on Tuesdays and go with the Thursday memorial for Flattop.
Thursday was Bruce's natural habitat, after all.
I'm comfortable with that, because I still wanted to honour Pat's memory as well.

Hi, can I get in on this? Been racing on rooz but there’s a gap to next season
Sure thing. Welcome aboard. I've sent you a PM with details.
Feel free to come along to tonight's fun run at New Jersey - there's another thread about it.
