Septic flags are septic.

p.s. Just noticed, I'm glad Team Maki think the same way. ;)
Riiight... The wing flags.

The Schumacher pack has two different cars in multiple resolutions and is 195mb.  May I suggest we pick out the one that you want to use Phil!
If not, Phil, I've assumed "ScuderiaFerrariMichael" for you.

I wish to put my name down for this series please
Hi back_86 and welcome to XGN. I got your GUID - thanks. I'll send you a PM with some details about the Tuesday night league.  It would be good if you come along to the practice race next Tuesday as well. You can read aboutit here: http://xgn.com.au/index.php?topic=2165.0

Hi Wally, can you get me in-game no 40, the plain black one, please?
I should have my setup up and running again by the start of the series, worst case I'd miss out on race one.
See how we go.

The Mustang Mach 1's are horribly understeery - you turn the wheel and it feels like nothing's happening :)

are you sure you were not in the  Ferrari 599XX
Ha. That's quite understeery too if you come in too fast, but at least you don't have to slow to 20 kph to make a corner ;)

Meet the Driver – Kcender87

It’s time to meet XGN league racer Kcender87. Kcender87 won his first XGN championship last season racing the BMW M235i, winning 9 out of 21 races. Kcender87 first raced with XGN in December 2016 in Season 15 in the Praga R1, where he won his very first race and followed that up with a second place and another win in the opening round, sending a message to the leaders that here was a contender for the pointy end of the field.

Kcender87 also had great success in the Lotus Exos 125 and the LMP1 seasons, finishing both of those seasons in 2nd place. His success has been limited only by him being unable to attend all rounds in a season. With more consistent attendance, I’m sure we’d see him take a season podium position more often.

In the overall XGN racer rankings, Kcender87 is in second place, behind legendary racer Guybrush Threepwood. He has also put in the most consistent lap times more than any other XGN racer.

XGN: What is your favourite style of car to race and why?

Kcender87: To race? Any category that allows the field to find about the same overall lap speed but in different ways - a standardised formula with various interpretations meeting that formula. Porsche Cup etc are great too but can end up with the field line astern with not so much close racing but close driving for lack of a better description.

That said I tend to find myself always going back to the historics (Group C, old DTM, old F1 and old old old F1) for the most enjoyment. Feeling the thing move under you and the more progressive and slightly rubbish tyres make them enjoyable. That said, I am a massive fan of the F2004 for some entirely different reason too.

XGN: Do you have any real-life racing or trackday experience?

Kcender87: Just hill-climbs, karting and a few track days here and there over the years in various different cars - nothing properly competitive though - that costs time and money and the damage tends to usually be someone else's fault  :P

XGN: Are you for or against success ballast, and why?

Kcender87: To achieve a balance of performance and bunch up the field I dont have an issue with it - its likely the best of a long list of far from perfect solutions and it should tend to have a similar effect as above at (1). Only tends to become an issue with secondary consequences such as where it has compound effects at one track (say with long straights and up hill sections like RedBull Ring) where the impacts go beyond the simple additional weight.

That said, everyone is subject to the same rules so get over it and drive the car :P

I just had a go in each of the cars. The RAF and Melkus are good fun. The Mustang Mach 1's are horribly understeery - you turn the wheel and it feels like nothing's happening :)
The Boss's are good fun - the 429 is a handful.
The Formula Student has unbelievably twitchy steering. What's the steering lock - 5%??? The Caterhams also have a very tight steering lock, but are fun to drive.

Can I please have the in-game, black #2 Wally?

I loved to be in the open wheelers again but the head shake was killing me and just couldn't focus. Don't seem to have the shake at A1 Ring.

Had a wierd sort of compromise night with the cars where I couldn't get a good setup for the tyres. Mediums went off about lap 9 and Hards took 7 laps to start working. Lots of spins for me but such a satisfying feeling to get a clean lap in. Track cuts were an issue here as I seemed to be getting them even with 2 wheels still on the track. Anyway, I had a blast.

What about a compromise season of the the forumla abarth or something like that. I'd love an F1 season at tracks like instanbul, magny Cours and the like with a few tight tracks thrown in for variety but an open wheel sesaon in anything would suit me fine

You can turn the head shake off or down in the AC launcher, can't you?

A F2004 season is definitely on the cards, I reckon. People were already able to drive and race well in this one practice race. As someone mentioned, lack of KERS and DRS means speeds are more consistent and predictable, so it's easier to race close.

The Formula Abarth is a relatively boring car, but yes it's available as a compromise open wheeler as well. It's a long time since we've raced it.

I'd check for anything running in the background. Windows updates? Other program's updates? Maybe do a full virus/malware scan in case there's something on your PC sending out data.

I'll take a spot on the grid this season please.
Goodo. Welcome back.
