It might pay to remind people of the cars :)

The track has a few issues, but it will be OK for a fun run:
  • Delta timing doesn't work
  • Track is very bumpy
  • Replay cameras are fixed, so the car is not visible for some of the track
  • I hit the cement under the first bridge and fell off the track
But it should be fun regardless.

It's not perfect, but I think we all enjoy Mid Ohio. It's a fun track, so I'd be happy to stick with it.

I wasn't there(maybe Mael was) but on a ROOZ night this track caused online problems, mostly costly cpu usage.

IMHO
  • Track is very bumpy, a lot of tracks are
  • Replay cameras are fixed, so the car is not visible for some of the track, this is very 1st person's on a vantage point/s, perspective, see the car coming, passing and disappearing from view and conversely, hearing the car/s coming, watching and anticipating, then they come into view.  Not  as a sim replay scenario/s
  • I hit the cement under the first bridge and fell off the track, are must be my driving... at least I haven't done that yet! :)

Yip can confirm some drivers had problems with the track. That said it was a full server.

Thanks Gzero and Mael, with our smaller numbers on the Thursday, (until more try the Porsche!), and being a fun no points run we can give it a go, Phil and I will work out a back up plan just in case.
Certainly the track is a nice circuit, always enjoyed it and this version, once refined, will bring a very nice circuit to our track inventory.

You can reduce CPU overhead by allocating all PhysX processing to your GPU under Nvidea 3D settings.

This is one of my alltime favourite tracks , and the Porsche Spider and Alfa are are a great combo here . ;D

Just did a few laps of Mid Ohio in the Porsche.

As usual my single monitor was cluttered with Apps giving me all sorts of technical information to help me go faster, but the driving sensation was so real with this car/track combination I decided to turn everything off and just have a clean screen.

And there it was. Sim driving nirvana. Just the car, the track, and an H shifter. I didn't care about the lap times, I was lost in the apexes and the brake markers and the gear changes. For once I could control the tailie rear end, my gear changes were sweet, I could heel-and-toe, and I listened to the engine and watched the tacho. No red numbers and sliding bars to tell me when to change gear.

And then to watch to the replay. The track is visually stunning. I know its too bumpy, but to watch the replay again and critique my driving and just enjoy the vision. What joy.

Did I do a good time or a PB?? Don't know, don't care!!

Will I be on pace on Thursday night? Probably not. Don't know, don't care.

Sorry to waffle on guys, but it really was that good.
