erm...we may not get Spa at all, gents, don't hold your breath just yet!

Someone mentioned that there was an early announcement RE spa that it'll only be in final release versions.  May not be true, but...

Once we've resorted to an Abarth Essesse 500 season, we'll start again ;)

No, I'm sure there will be some favourites that crop up again. But you're right - there's lots to choose from. Bacchulum is hanging out for a 98T season :)
The nice thing here too (compared to netKar) is that we can have mixed grids. Personally, I'd like to see a mix of cars from a real life series such as BTCC or DTM, although that would require the work of modders.

Hm...I hate to repeat myself, but I think for mixed grids we should really take a look that old car-renting method.  Ballast is the best for single-make races, may even work with mixed - the problem, though, is it'll create funny situations as each car has different strengths.  Altho it may not be such a big problem.   Eh whatever, we'll see :)

Oh and I love mixed-car racing, too.     In fact if the cars are balanced well and the tracks are mixed up enough, too, you may not even need the ballast.  Just a lot of tracks ;)

Thanks Wally, and congrats to everyone.
Good races!

Thanks Dick, that was exacly what I meant: to make them stand out more.
It's great!

This angle is better.
Not feminine enough for current trends though.

That looks awesome, thanks.  You're really good!

One thing if you don't mind; go mental and make the lorikeets on the sides full-colour, please.  Let's see it in its full glory :)

That's a hell of an ADSL speed, hope it's reliable, too!
You must be sitting next to the exchange...;)

Great fun it was, I was a tad tired and sick but still enjoyed it.  The car is a real handful, so much more than the nkp version was...

I will make a few more 'spare' skins and post them and people can take their pick. if anyone has any favorite colour (as long as it is a pink colour!) let me know. Or give me clues as to what might be a suitable design. Like Bird would like Lorikeets. I can only assume he means the under 15's netball team....

errr....no I didn't.  I'd rather not try to create problems between xgn and the child protection agencies, so let's stick to 18+ if you're keen to put on girls instead of birds...but I'd really prefer the birds.

As Marty said, it's not just about levelling the field, it's also about making it more interesting and yet keep it challenging for everyone.

Now, the allocation method is really a levelling tool - and a strong one at that, which leaves a lot up to luck.
Eg if you get a slow but extremely nimble car, then you're either a winner at a twisty track or a complete loser at Monza.

I'm partial to the car-buy system not because I've created it, but because it allows an element of strategy as well.  You can plan on the cars' strengths and weaknesses.

On the other hand; what to use as a base?  Race pos, champ pos, or fastest lap?  An average or the last one?

If you go by champ position, it levels out the championship completely, regardless of consistency.   If you go by fastest laps, it's a levelling heavily weighted by consistency, IMO; an inconsistent but fast chap (eg me or Marty without praccy) will likely get a pretty slow car, usually.  Which might be a good idea...but I'm not sure.  We certainly haven't tried that, ever before :)

All in all the car-buy system is what I prefer.  Those who haven't heard of it, here's a short rundown:

- You get some cash at the end of each race, the lower you finish, the more money you get.
- Each car has a set price.
- You 'buy' the car for the round, and race.
- Any cash you didn't spend keeps pooling, so you can save up for a better car later.  (anyone can have their "moment") :)

So this is a championship levelling tool, and a bit of a planning tool as well.

Edit:
although, this is but a temporary thing anyway, hopefully, until we get the ballast, which is really the best thing.

Wally, when I said use the fastest race-laps, I meant for this testing exercise :)
But then again, it may indeed be better - especially if it's using some averaged-out rank, not the last race results.

But let's not completely forget that we can use the rent-a-car (or buy a car) system, too.  The program exists (somewhere) I can probably dig it up and chuck it on a server, it requires configuration otherwise it should do it...

I think we will all 'hate' whatever we end up in compared to the nimble, light, fast Abarths. These street cars all take far too long to brake and sure dont like turning at speed.
Not even the slightest hint of hate from me.  I prefer tintops anyday.

seems those exige variants are the proper weapons :)

Sorry about that typo, Gaybrush just an honest mistake.

Did you see that?!?

I'd like a darker pink skin please, almost purple, with some brown stuff on it, maybe autumn leaves if that's all right?
Or a bird, I used to use lorikeets, they're nice and colurful :)

really cool!

Oooh, I like that milky way skin! :)

You call all my setups understeery Bird! ::)
But I remember you liked my wet ones. ;)

Sorry I don't mean to say they're bad, they're nice and safe, it's just a matter of preference.
It's really handy in the wet, though, that's for sure :)
