When you step up to F1, Roo, you normally leave the Formula Ford ranks. ;D ;D 8)

Aero  discussion info

https://catsonslicks.wordpress.com/2017/02/25/ac-wings-dev-app/

Thanks roo, very interesting stuff but a bit over my head, don't even know where to start really, some pointers on what to look at and not to waste my time with would be handy from someone who understand its all,

Really need someone to make an app that tells me what I need to do to make it perfect  :o ;) ;)

A Newey app? :P
(for the chassis, at least)

some pointers on what to look at and not to waste my time with would be handy
This part is crucial in my base setup for cars with wings:

"@X% front – This is your Aero Balance, very handy for setting the car up. Generally you want this to match your weight distribution (its at least a good starting point). For a most cars this is fine anywhere between 40% and 50%, though I wouldn’t advice anything above 50, and of course its car, track and most importantly user dependent. Do some experimenting and find whats best for you."
(weight distribution can be found in the dev app Car Physics)

Then I use this to see if the change is a gain:

"EFF – This is just CL/CD, so your aero efficiency. Big numbers are better, as it means you have more downforce per quantity of drag. Some tracks (Monaco) you can sort of forget this and go maximum drag, but its important for most tracks."
(ie. maxing the wings in the '75 mod brought no extra downforce, just drag)

Given the power of Seanus' use of AoA, I may pay more attention to that from now on. ;)

You'll need your %front less than your dynamic CoG, you check this in one of the other apps with 'distr' where you can see how far back your CoG goes when you are hard on the gas.
Ignore ride heights and go by the 'wings' app to check your rake.

DISTR ( weight distribution rear) is in the 'Car Physics' app.
Check your static figures whilst rolling at 10km/h, as that's after the switch from static to dynamic physics kick in.

Aintree

Physics mesh was merely a copy of the visible mesh and thus redundant, worse, it had been smoothed without being stitched back together so all the seams got separated and most of the bumps you felt were actually holes in the mesh.

Tweaked a few shader values, removed the sticky walls and added working Pitlane. Not tested much, but hope it should all work now.
