Thursday Nights fun racing / Re: Round 6 Date: April 21st Big Cat Country« on: April 21, 2016, 10:42:35 AM »Agreed, looks great, but people with slower PCs might experience framerate drops when the big bull statue is in view (my usual ~45fps drops to about ~30fps).Just don't look at it then AJ Why didn't I think of that? 347

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Apr 19 - season 11 bye - fun run?« on: April 21, 2016, 08:43:55 AM »Haha thanks Stan.If you have ( or get ) a second wifi router and use that instead for your house wifi you will relegate your house wifi to "just another" Ethernet port equal to your PC Ethernet port. That is a form of physical qos. Makes perfect sense, thanks for the tip. Once I get a job and some money I may have to look into that. 349

I prefer Bathurst myself, but Riverside is probably the safer option since a few people were worried about a crashfest.

Haha thanks Stan.
Unfortunately the standard QoS in this router is really basic and doesn't seem to have any real world effect. I've tried other firmwares on it with varying but ultimately unsatisfactory results. 352

Sorry guys. I really need to get the QOS sorted out on my router so the WiFi doesn't completely soak the connection every time it is used.

Count me in mate, I love Bathurst. Might have a mate or two who might be keen to join for a one-off race if we want some numbers.

Thursday Nights fun racing / Re: Thursday Night Season 4 Car and Track preferences.« on: April 15, 2016, 08:39:53 PM »Cars : how about the new arbarth 1000 for a car, or the lotus 49 or lotus 2-eleven, all in game cars . The new Abarth (595) would be pretty cool, but Black Cat County and Monza probably aren't well suited if we go with that car... 356
Thursday Nights fun racing / Re: Round 5 Date: April 14th Hill Top« on: April 14, 2016, 10:49:25 PM »Great race and great track! Thanks all and congrats to the winners Wasn't fast enough to get by though! There were only really two places on the track that I thought were right for a move, but those seemed to be the two places you outbraked me every time 357

I understand the appeal of this reverse grid racing, but as one of the slower drivers in the field, it's quite disheartening spending 3 races each Tuesday night being constantly overtaken. There's no point in me fighting anybody trying to pass me when I know the majority of them are 2-3 seconds a lap faster than I am anyway.

I have to say I think just about every single person has a slightly different approach into turn 1 at that track! 360
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: S11R1: Barbagallo pre-race chat« on: April 05, 2016, 09:34:17 AM »It seems 7.1 is particularly useful for FPS games though, and being able to identify the position of enemy based on where their footsteps are coming from, etc. Yep, definitely. Anybody who has played an FPS with a 5.1 or 7.1 headset would realise that it really isn't a gimmick. |
