I had been on track practicing and already noticed the 63s lap before viewing this post, 8) and was suitable impressed. I have now got my time down to 1.04.668 and was happy with that so far, I am now keen to do some more laps with your JSM setup ;D ;D ;D. The noise of these beasts would not be good with a hangover :D.
Thanks Bacchulum 8).

One thing the real drivers never had, a volume knob on their headset. ;)

I knew 63s was on the cards, I had one going by delta timing but as always I can only ever get three out of any four corners right on a given lap!

What's the odds on Phil punching out a 62 or better?

I would've had Phil for 61, except he'll be at the GP, I believe (the reason for the fun run).
But he does normally have a crack on Wednesday, so maybe...... :-X

Maybe only the tough Thursday guys can handle it ;D ;D ;D. It does take about 20 laps to start to get the hang of it, and then it becomes a real addictive challenge to get your lap times down, I find the thought of racing side by side with a human driver in these cars, something to really look forward to. I agree it could be fun or nightmare , it will depend on how much practice you can get in :). You also need to use one of the published setups and be VERY gentle with the throttle.

I think we should turn OFF damage for this event please Phil.

These cars are pretty awful to drive. Perhaps add a warm up race with easier to drive cars for those of us who really don't want/need the "challenge"?

Perhaps Alfa GTA at Lime Rock (Download)?

I believe that for once asking for a bit of preperation for a Thursday Fun Run is not asking to much, from ptracker stats only 3 people have given these cars a fair shake so far online. These cars are not awful to drive , they are different, but with a bit of practice you will get the hang of them, 20 laps or just 20 minutes. The whole car was designed to race these ovals at high speed, turning left , even the Offenhauser engine is at a slant to the left. I think  just a gesture of thanks to Seanus, we owe him the pleasure of using some of his special cars and tracks in an online environment.

Phil will be away on the night so changing cars and tracks is not an option.

I can see that with enough practice, these cars give a sense of achievement when you can drift them around a corner and keep them on the track :)

Reserve that for a future Fun Run. I have my own rF2 Lime Rock Park conversion and of course my RHD Alfa GTA. ;)

My setup for these cars, a bit less tail happy than Bacchulum's and a bit slower.

I enjoyed this fun run, especially when close to other cars. I reduced the power diff lock, reduced the rear ARB, and then I found I was able to steer it quite well through the corners with the throttle. It's just a pity the car is so unstable in a straight line.

My lower back is stuffed at the moment, and this race made it too painful to see out. I must have been leaning a little bit sideways the whole circuit :)
