Wouldn't you rather do a track day somewhere like Calder / Phillip Island / Sandown? It had never occurred to me that you could blow (suck) a headgasket. To put your quarter mile time into perspective for the younger members of XGN, a 1971 Ford Falcon GTHO phase III was dead slow at 15.4 seconds. Wouldn't you rather do a track day somewhere like Calder / Phillip Island / Sandown?I understand, I have infrequently attended the drags, but this shopping cart likes to straight more than take on the twisty bits, so the fun is the preparation, and for me, doing a little bit better each time, without be stupid about mods and money, it is fun flying down that strip , around the bend and heading to 200 metre run off at 90mph (well not every day, and when I say "fun" i mean "scary fun" )I am fortunate enough to have the FJ to do the track days, and next year after some work on the FJ we will be there.
