Title: S19R1: Silverstone GP
Post by: Wally on October 11, 2017, 11:26:15 PM
Just a reminder that the first S19 round is next Tuesday.
You will need the OSRW PIT MOD (http://www.mediafire.com/download/sht62uynkd02u1s/Silverstone_all_32pits_AC1.7.rar).

Each car must do a CPS for tyres. I also changed my mind about the tyre warmers - there will be NO tyre warmers. It makes the starts more exciting, needing more caution.

We will do a practice rolling start just this round. LMP1's will stay in 2nd gear. We'll proceed around the track in single file, reforming into side by side double file onto the straight, as per our starting positions on the grid. The race leader goes when he crosses the start line.

One thing we learned from the practice race is that the LMP1's need to be careful when pulling back onto the racing line after passing a GT3. Don't block the GT3's braking room into the next corner, or otherwise cut them off.

Weather: Following the FIA WEC calendar, the Silverstone round is in April, when the weather is 14°. Wind 32 kph S.

Server's up.
If I don't have a car selection yet for someone, I've given them the Nissan GT3 for now.

I've figured out my ambition for this season. I will deem my race a success if Grat laps me only once!     ;D

Looking at the lap graph's, it looks like you used boost as well. :-\
So yeah, you're in trouble. :( :P

Am I getting that right, the race starts for each driver when crossing the start-finish line - no acceleration and overtaking before that?!
Cheers

No overtaking before the start line. You can accelerate though. Because it's a timed 1 hr race, the race time will actually start when the red lights go out and we start our formation lap (as AC doesn't properly support rolling starts).

There’s a pattern emerging if you consider the rate of Thursday nite rule changes! Expect Phil to change cars halfway through the race on Tuesday :)

Are we allowed to fuel in the pit stops or have to start with full tank ?

Too hard/erratic/didn't work for some people.

Yes, you can refuel however you want, or not refuel if you can/want, with no restriction. The only compulsory thing is a tyre change.

I'm afraid I am out unless I can sort out my PC issues.

I did an update to AMD drivers and Windows update decided to do it's thing in the background at the same time. Now nothing works!! Latest is it wants to re-install AC - all 34GB!!! Bloody hell !!!!!

[UPDATE] Got the shits and pulled the plug on the whole PC. Doing a clean install of EVERYTHING. Man, I hate PCs...AND Phones btw - my phone also went into an endless boot loop last week and has to be sent back for a replacement.

Did I mention I HATE technology !!!!

Sorry everyone. :(
Following the restart after the practice start, I began getting micro stutters.
I hoped these would go away but they got worse, I lost it on a curb, and killed half the field. :'(
They didn't go away so I left, I didn't want to cause another accident.
Sorry.

Unmitigated disaster, whatever i did to my setup did not work.  :o

Just could not keep it on track, also learned that flat spots does effect your grip.

I was not upset at you at all, and if it came across like that I am sorry.  I was just salty because while I am all for realism, I also think it should be fun also, and tonight was not fun and the whole week turns into a waste of practice and to top it off don't even get to race,  just lapping god knows how many laps down

+1 on that. Disappointing to go out on the first lap of a 1 hour race.  I finished it, but it was a lot of work for last!
Sh#t happens Bacchulum . . . if it makes you feel any better I can punt you off next week :) :) :)
