Hello lurker.
They had some interesting rules then. I hope to have a season where the pit stop strategy actually comes into it for a change.

Oh, did they? I thought they didn't. Yeah, banned from 84 to 94, then again from 2010. Looks like we'll have to allow refuelling then.

Roo, I think you are developing the wrong idea about Tuesday nights. We joke about racing for sheep stations for a bit of a laugh, but in reality, the vast majority are there to have fun and enjoy some good competitive racing.

Good one. We've used this on a Tuesday as well, so good to know.

Yep, really enjoyed this season. Always like close bumper to bumper racing.

Had a good race with couple of guys from France and Italy tonight  :) Good fun these  ;)

Tried out the Caterham roadster 500 at Baskerville too... was doing 1-06-818 round there, so a fair bit faster than the academy,

but good fun  :) a real throttle steerer.  ;D  Dave O.
Sounds good, because the previous Caterham was just a little bit too sticky.

That's certainly happened on Tuesdays, where you get someone all keen and they race in one race only to discover they're way off the pace, so they don't come back. That's always going to happen to some degree. I don't know how much driver aids might help that lack of pace. It might be worth a try to allow TC and ABS even if the car doesn't normally allow it, where the experienced guys then wouldn't use it.

I find it interesting that there is other leagues out there ,that have been around for years running the same SIM and eventually die , but that is the members preference rather than join another league  :-\ :-\ :-\ . Although I do like the fact that the standard of driving on Thursdays is VERY high with virtually no crash or crash through attitudes :) :) .

But worth a try to get more people Phil :) .

I had always hoped some more Tuesday people would join us, but from the last Tuesday numbers I think that is a vain hope :'( . Any ideas why Wally?
I think often it ultimately just comes down to the day of the week, or how many nights a week people can make time to race, and so on. There are also Thursday night folks who don't race on Tuesdays, for example.

Good idea Phil.

GT3s at Spa.

One of the best attended Tuesday seasons was actually the Kunos Ford Escort.

I think, when you consider the changes in tyre models, now up to 10, the number of mod cars and tracks, all of which can give different grip levels to the real thing, compared to only Kunos content we started with, yes it is different now. Plus one thing I  ALWAYS have trouble with is the changes in grip level, to me it is always more pronounced than it would be IRL. I have never considered changes in grip level, when I used to race in my daily drive everywhere I drove, before the invention of speed cameras. 8)
They do make mention of the grip level in the Supercars coverage, often talking about the track rubbering up and getting gripper. What that actually feels like in real life, I have no idea.

Let's try a single hour race (46 laps).

Tyre wear will be 1.5x, to simulate wear over a real life race distance of 1hr30.
Tyre warmers will be ON.

No refuelling at pitstops, but you can do whatever you have to do regarding tyres. Refuelling is also allowed.

Some quick race results:

Race 1
Race 2

A disappointing turnout tonight... the Thursday night lads must have intimidated the Tuesday lads ;)
Either that or it's the lack of ABS and TC...  :-X

Sorry but will miss this one. I have a referees course for soccer tomorrow :(
Why don't you red card yourself off and go home and race?
