S19R3: Le Mans Race Chat
« on: October 24, 2017, 10:56:49 PM »
Round 3 takes us to Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans) [DOWNLOAD].
We will be running the chicane verson.

Weather is 24 and clear, slight wind.

This will be Rob's 200th Tuesday league race.

Rolling Start Procedure
Rather than do a whole lap because of the length, we'll do an abbreviated rolling start. We'll do the normal single file rolling start through to the Esses, then form into double file at the first red banner. When we go around Tertre Rouge and see the big road signs, that's our Go line for the leaders.

Double File

Awesome Rob :)

Is it just me or does this track seem a little small when it comes to width? doesn't seem to have a lot of room down the straights unless it's my FOV %.  Some of the corners kinda creep up on you and there's no brake distance markers on them, the dark ripple strips make them hard to see in the shadows.  Going to be interesting.

The LMP1 might find this helpful

It would be, except I never settled on a mapping until half way through the race. :o

I put up a special abbreviated rolling start procedure in the first post, due to the length of the track.

Hi Wally,
I'll have to send my apologies for this race.
I'm currently on leave and thought I would be free for the rest of the racing. But the wife wants to go away for a few days.
As they say happy wife, happy sim life.

It won't be a true simulation, this race.
IRL, ACO changes the use and regen. allowance for Le Mans but we're going to have to deal with the standard settings.

I guess they allow for more use and regen, do they?

Yes.
They allow extra regen. but with the distinct lack of corners it's difficult to achieve.
Deployment, on the other hand, is easy to still use up given the straights. ;)
