The Shorty has barely been in the top 10 all season . . . so not sure why we keep talking about penalising it!   Practice server lap times are not at all reflective of the racing reality.

The restrictions are not meant to be fair, it is there to help the Long-tail win. As the esteemed cricket team showed its all about winning and not how you play  :P Now I'm wondering; if I attack the C9 with a bit of sandpaper would it slow it down?
No, you'll just make it lighter. :o

Should be an interesting race.

Shorty will lose all hope after the long pit stop of course.

Hm...yet another track where the short tail will be schooled on the straight, and no way to take the position back later.  Not complaining, just stating the facts ;)

I've managed a decent low 37 but I'm burning up the rears after a lap or two...:/
The last bit was always a weak part for me on this layout, I reckon in the proper hands the shorty could do a 36 no probs.  I just can't get the last 3 corners done properly, especially the 3rd last, I keep losing grip there (as usual for me).
You're only 0.15 off of Kcender's C9 time!

Might be time to start adding ballast back to the Shorty!!

...and an extra manadatory pit stop to the c9 to even the pit times out :D

No, I reckon even as it is, it's a penalty that you have to try and get past on the twisties, not comfortably on the straight.  The pit stop & fuel usage is an added burden, still.

Exactly. Race wise the Shorty and Mazda produce some close racing, but we've had zero chance against the longtail or C9s as they smoke us on the straights, slow us down in the corners but can't get past and even if we manage a pass due to a mistake they'll smoke us on the next straight.

From pre-season I ranked the cars, fastest to slowest:

C9
Longtail
Shortail
Mazda

so I never understood the shorty getting restriction of any kind. ???

Going by my car time ranking, using a sample size of about 170 instead of 1, the shorty lap times were on average roughly 0.5 seconds faster than the long tail. I also wanted to penalise the shorty slightly for being somewhat easier to drive than the other cars, to encourage people to drive the harder cars. What I didn't take into account was that the shorty is slow to refuel.

BoP sure ain't easy!

Tough night for me.  Qualified 9th after a few average laps but got a great jump and was into 5th behind Mael.  Mael offered up the Multi21 so I slipped by and was able to keep about 2 second gap to the pack in front.  But after a few laps I decided to look at a guage for something and proceeded to miss the brake marker at the end of the back straight!!  I almost saved it but glanced to wall.  Damage fix was necessary so limped back, fixed it and took a bit of my fuel and pushed on.  From there it was a lonely race, only seeing Kcender and Jeremy (twice) as the lapped me.  Not sure if I caused Jeremy grief on the second pass as I got a momentary black screen and ran off.  Other than that it was just a case of getting it home...

Had a poor start missing a gear and loosing places. Had a tangle with Able after 5 mins breaking my windscreen and giving me body damage. Also had a spin that may have collected Mael but I thought he was well past me by the time I spun? Limped along for 30 mins to pit and fix all my damage, then on my first lap out I got a little loose on cold tyres and made a very slight touch with a wall which somehow broke both front suspension. Not sure how I was barely moving. Limped back to the pits and fixed it, but came out a lap down on everyone and didn't really feel like a further 20 mins of hotlapping in the heat so retired from the race.

Shitty night for me, too.
I could not find my qualify legs - as usual - but also that 98% grip was enough to throw me off big time, somehow.   I just could not get the car around corners fast without losing the rear.

The race started ok, seemed like we'll have an epic battle, but got in a tangle with Phil, had to take an early pit, making the race a two-stopper already.  Then another when I overtook AbleArcher's merc on the outside of T7 (the tight right hander) and he could not turn in entirely tight (or maybe I did not go wide enough) - although this second did not cause too much damage and I was able to drive on no probs.  Then I've overrevved the engine on a downshift pretty bad, opted to fix it (bad idea!!!) so I sat in the pits for about 5 minutes the second time.

After the first one I still had a chance not to be dead last (slight, because of the fuel usage & subsequent pit time), but after the second; nothing.

Just one of those nights... :)
