I saw this on motorsport.com today and thought about telling GB...

I saw this as well. A good concept. It goes to show that gaming and sim racing, esports, etc. Are being taken more seriously these days by the wider public and obviously becoming more popular. It's obviously just a marketing ploy, but if a team as big as Mclaren are actively trying to engage the sim racing community it goes to show how big sim racing has become.
I'd love to take part but I don't think I have the hardware, or more importantly the time (not to mention the skill!) . The greater the competition the more time you have to put into perfecting a setup which takes a lo5 longer than perfecting a track IMO.
You guys should have a shot though - it would be good to see a few xgn'ers throwing their hat in the ring. :)

Guybrush, you do have the skill, that's not a question. :) I've raced with quite a few fellas over the past 10-15 years, everywhere including iRacing, and you are among the best ones.
But if you don't have the time, it'll not work, that's for sure. Even Greger Huttu is/was practising a lot every day.
