I could try it, the problem is where I live I basically have to be outside for a reception, 20 mins from the state capital.
Tasmania is really a second rate poor cousin to the rest of the country

Farkennel...that's bad. I had problems in the past, I bought a telstra prepaid 4g device and used it as a backup with an external antenna, all in the upper story window.   Worked very well, although this is a bit pricey option, and you really want to be on the telstra network with a telstra subscription - other providers piggybacking on T network are 'second rate customers'.  (tested!)

Edit: and of course pings are still nothing to brag about...

This one is a bit mental.  And if you're wondering what happens if you hit a bale, go to 5:58

I've got dirt rally, it's pretty cool. Anyone interested in doing some rally cross, actually, can we still connect online with this?

You can actually do rally racing, set up you own rally "season" and run it - we used to have that on the arse forums.  One race run week.  It's not bad, if there's enough interest and someone willing to do the administration :)
So if there is a few guys keen, we can do a rally cross session online together? Haven't loaded up dirt in quite a while and even when it was new I couldn't find any online races

I don't know, I never do rally-x :)

(sorry, I've accidentally edited your post when I just wanted to quote it)

That's the ISP problem not nbn. Backhaul is expensive from nbn so ISP scrimps on it.

Grat, do you know that on fttn, the node has only 2 (two) fibers active from the box to the exchange?  (there's a third spare one)
When you have hundreds of people on it, it's feasible that you get congestions.

Having said that;  Phil; try Aussie Broadband I've mentioned in the opening post.  These guys don't seem to have big evening congestions, and you can test them for a month, free of charge.

(Internode is also pretty congestion free at peak hours, but I don't know of any free trial offers)

I'd love to be able to put all libs supporters on NBN MTM, and the labour supporters rest on proper ftth :)

Well, Dirt Rally isn't too bad if you haven't tried it yet...

Hey Bird, you can host all our servers now.

LOL Simone.

Well, the 80mbps upload does make server hosting possible to an extent.  :)

Hit me up for a link if you like.

I always love to see how much car control these guys have...well, most of the time.  I also love to watch when they don't quite get it right :)

Ok, not just that.  But mostly :D
http://www.speedtest.net/result/7022117736

I'm testing Aussie Broadband - they've a standing free month offer - and importantly, a 150/100 plan - the above result is as tested at 4:30pm friday here on said connection.

Interesting to note that the ping isn't that shiny.  My usual ping (as some of you know) is 3-4ms on my current Internode connection.

( But then I can d/l at ~15MB/s from steam and/or Amazon s3 - and upload at blistering speeds, too, which is pretty handy for me for work )

Edit: attached the steam test

Sounds like a bit of a rip-off, tbh.  With the stationary wheel, and the seemingly low range of motion...
I'd rather get a 401.  It's around $50k US, so I expect it'd come a bit cheaper, even shipped.

Assetto Corsa / Re: Wanted to buy - Windows 7 home premium product key
« on: January 22, 2018, 02:07:46 PM »
I was actually looking for that, too, a little while back (win7 ultimate keys) and found that you can buy it online!  But you either buy technet keys, which aren't quite what you want (priced $5-$50)  or you can buy the real deal, but that is $200+

It's incredible, it is as if microsoft wouldn't want us to use win7 anymore!  No way!

p.s. don't bother asking the seller if theirs is a genuine key, of course all of them are!
