Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Season 11: Toyota GT86 Season Info and Sign Up« on: March 27, 2016, 09:11:39 AM »
Thinking about the cumulative penalty ballast, I reckon I'll make it the worst of the 3 races I.e. not accumulate over the whole round. So if you get penalty ballast in the 3 races of 150, 75 and 225, you'll get 225 kg for the first race of the next round.

That looks like a typical "concrete being valid track" scenario that a lot of tracks have. I won't bother with any fix just for this fun run. You can run the risk of the kerbs bouncing your car around

Version 1.10 in the first post fixes the random interval bug, so all players will now start after the same random interval.

Ha, that would have been hilarious, watching everyone start at random times.
I'm going to generate a pseudorandom number from something that's the same for everyone, that the app knows: date, AC version, number of race laps etc. 6637
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: New pit lane penalty app: 1.9 for download« on: March 26, 2016, 06:21:04 PM »gaining .1 -.3 off the line is not worth risking 20 seconds. Yeah, I'm curious about the synch too. I kinda think it has to be, as the.... Ah, oops. Penny drops. The random delay at the end has to go, as that will be different for everybody. LOL. Or I base the randomness on something ever player gets told by the server. Yeah, that's what I'll have to do. OK, once that's fixed, it will be the same for everyone, as the AC lights go out for everybody at the same time, and then the PLP lights go out a fixed number of seconds after that. 6638

I put the entries so far in the 1st post. No names as clues yet. Guess away!
I can add more if anyone else wants to join in. 6639
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: New pit lane penalty app: 1.9 for download« on: March 26, 2016, 01:54:17 PM »Wally, can I suggest having a toggle switch in the on-screen app that activates or deactivates the starting lights? This way you can easily turn it on/off if you are in a public server or other race which won't use PLP's start. Yeah, I've been thinking of doing something like that. There is an option in the INI file to turn the lights on or off, but an on-screen option would make life easier. The only problem is that then you might get guys who have accidentally turned it off in our league races and just go when the AC lights come on. Or I could make it always come on by default, if the option is set in the INI file, and you then you can toggle it on or off. Regarding the drive through I just did a test at Donnington and the drive through there is only worth just over 7 seconds vs the penalty of 20 seconds. From memory at most tracks we ran the total pit stop time was mostly around 24 to 30 seconds and this included changing tyres or tyres and fuel which is about 10 seconds. The Donington pit lane is relatively short. So you can tour the pit lane in just 7 seconds there? That's surprising. 6640

Let's do an identity parade/match the name to the photo thing, if you want. You can email me a photo of yourself at mastersonwally g mail, with your name, and I'll put together a collage of photos and names to match, to post here.

I'm sure that could be worked into the PitConfig app somehow.

Yeah, I'm thinking along the same lines as GB. Drive throughs have their place, but probably in longer races that already have pitstops. We can always have drive throughs in different format races in future.
