Hi ping, you mean, I suppose. It would be good to test some other servers, because for all I know, the cloud hosted server is causing warping. Although then you'd think everyone would be warping at once, like when the flow control server setting was introduced and all cars started flying in the air.

All the rack service hosts are in Europe though, aren't they? That would introduce high pings into the equation.

Wally, I gather you are taking care of Marty's server for XGN practice?

He took me through how to change up the other servers.

Yeah, I've already set it up for 4.2x fuel.

What sort of times are you guys getting?

In a real quick, full fuel test, I was 2:05.x in the GTC. But that was only a few laps to calculate the fuel burn.

On the one hand, disabling collisions would be pretty stupid, as it takes away most of the racecraft, if you can just plough through any racing line you want. What I'm really sort of brainstorming here is if there is a conceivable solution that we can convince KS of to avoid these warp wrecks. I would think, as we've often said, that if a car suddenly jumps backwards 50m for no apparent reason, to disable collisions for a second or two would be feasible, but I don't know the intricacies of how the netcode and prediction works. But so long as KS keep saying there's no issue, anything like that is going to fall on deaf ears.

I thought disabling collisions altogether, as a server setting, might be a relatively easy workaround for KS to implement, to avoid warp hits. But on further thought, that wouldn't be much fun either. Maybe if as well the screen went progressively darker the more you overlapped with another car? When a car flick backs with a warp, the "impact" is usually only for a split-second, so your screen would just flicker for a split-second, but you wouldn't actually hit anything.  If you were trying to deliberately drive through a car mid-corner, the screen would be darker for longer, and the risk of crashing would be a disincentive.

Just out of curiosity (this is not actually possible), which would you prefer?

Disabling collisions would take away from realism, but a warp wouldn't wreck your race.

Fuel and tyre multiplier will be 4.2x in race 2.

Hey Wally, is there a available spot for the rest of the season?

Yessir. Pick a car, GTC or GX and let me know.

Also, make sure you download a newer version of the PLP app here: http://www.xgn.com.au/index.php?topic=758.0

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Season 8 News Feed
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:27:40 PM »
WEDNESDAY - XGN welcomes the newest team to the championship, "Pow R. Toc H. Racing". Formed with financial backing from the mysterious former racer Krahl (Some say that his heart ticks like a watch, and that he’s confused by stairs. All we know, he’s the racer formerly known as Krahl), the fledgling team is a sole owner, driver franchise run by Phil.8. "Pow R. Toc H. Racing" will be fielding a Lotus Evora GTC in the upcoming rounds, with owner Phil.8 vowing to never set foot in an Evora GX again.

Any drivers currently without a team are invited to send a resume to Phil.8, along with whatever inducements, financial or otherwise*, they deem necessary.

*XGN does not condone bribery.

Hey all, I'm looking at making a return very soon. Looking for a drive again but I have only just set my rig back up and have not raced since about January...  Can anyone lend me some training wheels? I'll be available for 3 out of every four tuesday nites.
I'll have to sus out whats changed in AC. Anyways if a spot is open I'll be available the week after next...

Cheers

That's good news Mopz. It will be good to have you back (so long as we don't race at Blackwood and you wipe the floor with us). The week after next, we'll have 2 rounds of season 8 left. You're welcome to come along for a run. Pick an Evora GX or a GTC (GTC is a bit nicer to drive).

I remember in GTL, it was pretty unforgiving. It will be interesting to see what it's like in AC.

I've raised an issue for it - for what it's worth...

I replied too. I don't believe you can simply point the finger at ”poor connections”.

Wally, I'm out for the rest of this season. Will be away all of September.

OK, thanks. Enjoy your European GT3 tour :)
