Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: S29R1: Brands Hatch Indy« on: July 24, 2019, 01:20:23 PM »Disappointed I was too sick to race but I think something is wrong above Wally; you have Mael in 2nd? lol Without you to distract me I managed to put in some good laps. Was rather surprised so many people opted for the Veloster as there was a serious difference in grip between the two cars. Race 1 & 2 were pretty uneventful after the first few laps with AGK keeping me honest during race 1. Race 3 was chaotic as Wally & Bacchulum interfered with the Datsun's racing while a bit of contact with my team mate caused me to drop to 9th!! Somehow managed to recover back to 2nd with a surprising little amount of actual passing As for KCender we all would have to apologies to him for not providing any challenges. PS Apologies to Ablearcher for the pass in race 3, was probably a bit too much Verstappanish 332

I'll post here so not to go to far off topic on the AC forum
Previously in response to a couple of races with RaceOnOz: I'm generally 5 seconds off the pace and cannot seem to go quicker. The biggest problem is a numb car, I just cannot feel what the car is going to do which makes it impossible to drive fast. Added to that is the steering seem to be very slow, its like driving a truck! Since then I tried multiple adjustments to the graphics setups and ended up with a game that looked like the classic Geoff Crammond Grand Prix Game but not running quite as smoothly as the old game Realizing that me adjusting graphics setting were likely the cause of the crappy performance I gave up and selected the pre-set medium graphic setting and the difference was amazing, actually playable. In addition I changed the steering wheel setup from the default 900 Degrees range to 360 degrees which made the game actually playable. (Though ACC would be like AC automatically adjusting steering range?) With the changes I could match Wally's laptimes. The handling still isn't as crisp as AC's version but then I assume the GT3 cars are large and heavy cars. Did about an hour's racing before it became too late, enjoying the changing tire grip as the track temperature changes and wear came into effect and watched Wally get mugged by some non-XGN drivers You must have been missing the opportunity to hand out some penalties Wally! 334

It was a very good battle until then. The big question is.... how did Humper get such speed out of the Mazda? 336

I've tried a couple of the RACEONOZ races but found it trying.
I'm generally 5 seconds off the pace and cannot seem to go quicker. The biggest problem is a numb car, I just cannot feel what the car is going to do which makes it impossible to drive fast. Added to that is the steering seem to be very slow, its like driving a truck! Thus I can only assume that maybe my PC is a bit too slow for ACC. For example I'm finding the graphics much worse than AC, the detail especially in further distances are not crisp enough. But hopefully Wally can gain a bit experience in it and sort all the problems out for us 337

Really fun racing
Sorry about race 1 Humper, that middle twiggy section had my number for the whole night. Once the brakes locked it was all over in the BMW. 338

AC was working fine on Tues night, but just fired it up tonight and all I get is a black screen when I press Start. Noo! You missing the cutest little track! 339

Had a really enjoyable first race with some great battles right through the race. These cars are quite stable during contact with other drivers, which means battles can become a bit more personal
Sadly my race ended up in tears on the finish straight when Bacchulum refused to give way so I could give Bueller a push over the line After that a technical failure with Telstra caused me to miss the next race, one a really looked forward to. 342

Thought I had the car sorted for this race but it handled like a dog during the race. At least Russ kept me company, his setup looked as bad as mine. 344

The night started good with a solid 8th place qualifying. But a innocuous little touch with my team mate followed by a vicious attack by Joe on my poor Honda meant the first race was a disaster, finished many laps behind the aliens. (Absolutely nothing do do with the terrible driving on my part )
The next two race were much better, just tried to stay out of trouble. Ended up getting the most consistent lap times for the two races which makes me wonder what everyone else was doing! |
