S22R7: United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen
« on: June 19, 2018, 09:49:56 PM »
Final race of the season!

The season podium currently stands at:1. Kcender87, 204
2. Phil.8, 200
3. Matthew, 176
There's nothing in it between Kcender and Phil. Both of them are fighting for their 2nd championship title.

34 laps, at Watkins Glen (Boot Classic - no chicane)

The layout should be the boot with chicane. ;)
Fuel and tyres should be:
Quote
Fuel rate is 1.5x, tyre rate is 1.7x

The very first race that used the chicane was the 1975 GP.
If we've been able to be accurate, we have so far, so that's why I said 'with'.

The Scheckter (esses) chicane was in use in '75, the bus stop wasn't built until '92!  :P
Let's just back up a year and pretend this race is in 1974.  ;D
You know what? I'm sorely tempted to because I hate chicanes as much as anyone.

Do it Wally, G0D's correct. :-[
The chicane in use, which I forgot about so assumed was the bust stop, was a pathetic, dicky thing in the left-hander of the esses.

The boot without chicane would be more representative. ;)

Had some laps and I seem to lose 1+ second through the fast S and the straight after that.

Since I am flat out there, I guess it's a setup thing. What do the engineers in here suggest? Lower the suspensions and take a bit of wing off?

Lower the wing as far as you're still able to take the esses flat.
They should be tricky flat, not easy flat.
Or take some fuel out, that always helps the lap time. ;)
