No. You can (I could) somehow get a steam key out of them and activate it on steam.

It's interesting that for every 5-6 people that say "it just doesn't feel right" there is one that say "it's great".
We're all different, aren't we :)

I hated it at first when I first started playing it, but I just had to adjust my driving style to not be so super aggressive like AC allows for, in pCARS have to actually warm up the tyres and brakes and the ambient conditions really affect how hard you can push  :D

no, you still have the game and you will actually get some money back (depends on the agreement you had with them at the time when it was in crowdfunding process).

My old subscription gave the me latest update and had a run last night for an hour to work out the menus.
Took your suggestion faz and installed the FFB definition.

Had a couple of offline races in the Escort around Oltoun park, those AI are worse drivers than me, but the feel was okay.
Jumped on for another try at morning tea today, just, and there are NO online races in the lobby?  pretty quite all around the world and they are saying it is the #1 UK game????

I did some laps at the Somona Race way, it may be smooth, but it is fantastic with the undulations and the multiple configurations.
Jumped in the old Merc sedan and put the weather to storm, heheh, great fun in the rain.

Controlling slides was okay and enjoyed some great laps against the AI
I have set a public server up but no one around  :-\

pCARS (same with other SMS games and Dirt and stuff), rely on the Steam download region you selected – I swap between different AU regions (QLD, NSW and VIC) or just use London's (most of the world uses this) – so basically you'll only see servers from people who have the same region selected as you.

Not feeling well I couldn't be bothered working out the regional selection so i created an event and had a couple of great races albeit 3 racers, but last night 8 peeps running the escort at Bathurst at night! I gave up at 8 laps, I think the instigator of the race didn't know how long Bathurst was, as 17 laps was a LITTLE long :)
The FFB was great, the track, a little smooth, was stunning!  I think an in-between season run with all those that have Cars is on the cards.

Sounds good to me... I'll be there.  :)
NEVER TOO OLD TO RACE ... being competitive can be a PROBLEM though.

Apparently if you can fix the default FFB settings it gets better... will try again on the weekend...

I keep trying to have a go and then shut it down in frustration...

I'm not holding much hope, but will persist.

That's what they say on the ARSE forums.  But they also say that you need to set the FFB "right" on every car, maybe every track/car combo.  And that's just way too much trouble for me.  Not to mention to understand what you're doing you have to wade through an hour of video and understand it properly.   I say fuck that.  My time is better spent on something else, thanks.

Right on cue.
A guy posts his wheel configs for the cars - this may solve the issue once and for all.

(The very thing the devs should have done, to be honest.)
