May 12 fun run: McLaren F1 GTR at Monza 66 and Monza
« on: May 05, 2015, 11:17:33 PM »

"The McLaren F1 GTR was a racing variant of the McLaren F1 sports car first produced in 1995 for grand touring style racing, such as the BPR Global GT Series, FIA GT Championship, JGTC, and British GT Championship. It is most famous for its overall victory at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans where it beat out faster purpose-built prototypes. McLaren F1 GTRs raced internationally until 2005 when the final race chassis was retired."

Hi Wally the server is setup with 26 cars but the track only has 25 grid spots its the modern one that has 26, also have you taken GB off the blacklist as he kind of got added to it last week.

OK, thanks Marty. I assumed the old one had 26 as well. I don't think GB is on the practice server blacklist. I couldn't find his GUID in it, and I haven't updated it for some time.

Here's my 1:26.7 set. I think I might still try adding one more click rear wing.

Also, I'll make the 3rd race at modern Monza to mix it up a bit.

I havent tried this combo yet but for old Monza minimum aero you can get away with will likely be quickest. May turn it into a death trap but thats the beauty of the place.  ;D

There's still some long fast corners where you'll need some aero. Looking at stracker, Rob's faster than me with a lower top speed, so he has more aero. My setup is 0/2, but feels like it would benefit from a little more downforce.

I'm running 0/0.
Maybe not the quickest but will help with passing/defending. ;)

Or just make the rear end a little looser by either increasing front d/f, or decreasing negative camber, more negative rear toe, stiffer ARB or higher rear tyre pressure.  I havent tried these cars though so not sure what you can change. :)

That's weird, because I couldn't find your GUID in the blacklist file. I'll get rid of the file.

Edit: fixed. You were in the file. You should be good to go now.

Do you guys ever do non-symmetrical set-ups? eg, on a track like this where it is very heavy work on the left side?

And finally, a shot of my bmw... You can tell it is mine..

On a track like this I'll use asymmetric tyre pressures, to more even the temps. ;)

I just posted my setup in the Drop Box - Setups thread.

If it is too twitchy I would suggest increasing the front tyre pressure and/or increasing the front ARB + front spring stiffness.  I find it OK, a little skittish under brakes.  You can adjust the cambers and toe if this is the case.

It should be a WR, but there are a couple of guys who have turned damage off and used the rails to drive around.  You can see this in their sector times.  Not sure if you can report them though.

So just be aware if you are seconds off the RSR WR, don't be down - ^ that is why.

Cheers.
