Hiya chaps

My name is Paul - I'm 47 and I live in Adelaide with my wife of 12 years and our two daughters 9 and 6.  I'm an Electronic Engineer and work as project manager for a global oil and gas research company.

I come from a family of racing as my dad raced Speedcars at both Rowley and Speedway Park for many years.  I got into karting in my late teens and early 20's for a few years.  I then spent some time engineering/restoring/modifying my first car, a HR Holden - which I've still got.  Buying a house put the brakes on karting and playing cars and so I found my (budget) racing fix with rFactor and a Logitech GT wheel.

Today I race mainly in Assetto Corsa but sometimes throw on Dirty Rally.

Up until recently my rig consisted of a 80/20 type chassis with Sparco seat, Fanatec CS base, BMW wheel and pedals along with a triple monitor setup.  Late last year I changed over to VR which has really renewed my sim racing interest again so I'm now in the process of putting together a OSW setup and re-jigging everything.

Looking forward to catching up with a few like minded guys on-line for a few racing sessions..

Cheers

Paul

G'day hoopstar and welcome.

We've just finished a Tuesday night season, and have a couple of fun runs lined up for the coming Tuesdays. Next Tuesday is a run in the Ferrari F2004 - you'll find a thread with details in the Tuesday sub-forum. Qualifying is at 8:15pm Adelaide time, with a practice session before that.

There's also racing in the Cobra on Thursday nights, run by Phil.8.

Hi Paul, welcome , Flattops Thursdays is centered around historic cars and tracks as much as possible , with the emphasis on Fun and Clean racing. I used to have a HR Premier , I rolled it over racing a mate of mine, I still remember hanging upside down in the seatbelt, totally disorientated, trying to work out how to get out of the car ;D ;D.

What was his name Paul, cos I was a big fan of Rowley Park, didn't miss a meeting for about 10 yrs in the 60's, and had a cousin who raced there too.
Murray Parker was his name.

Cheers boys and thanks for the warm welcome..

gawaterman - Dads name was Brian Mullins.  Orange Speedcar 21 and then black speedcar 33 at Speedway park.  Dad has a serious accident at Speedway Park in 86 that essentially ended his racing days.

rooshooter - you gotta love the old HR's.  Mine was bought brand new by my grandfather and as I said, was my first car...  lots of great memories in it but unfortunately I don't drive her much these days.  Hoping to race it again next summer..

I'll certainly check out the F2004's next Tuesday...

Thanks again guys.
