I've started doing ACC 90 min enduros at ROOZ on Monday nights. My racing time budget only allows 2 nights a week, so sadly I'm going to give Thursday's a miss for a while. I'll miss the good racing and the friendly banter. I might still turn up occasionally if time allows.

Yep, fair call Wally. Unfortunately you don't have the luxury of heaps of spare time like some of us.

But Thursday's will be the poorer for it. Have fun on Monday.

CYA Tuesday.

I understand, might as well get some fun out of while some are still playing it,  at time of writing this AC had 1200 players and ACC had 86

I've tried a couple of the RACEONOZ races but found it trying.

I'm generally 5 seconds off the pace and cannot seem to go quicker. The biggest problem is a numb car, I just cannot feel what the car is going to do which makes it impossible to drive fast. Added to that is the steering seem to be very slow, its like driving a truck!

Thus I can only assume that maybe my PC is a bit too slow for ACC. For example I'm finding the graphics much worse than AC, the detail especially in further distances are not crisp enough.

But hopefully Wally can gain a bit experience in it and sort all the problems out for us  :)

I have a read a lot of the input latency acc has which I presume is caused by the unreal engine, I read that changing maximum prerendered frames to 1 in the nvidia control panel helps,, I had to do this to AC in its early days, and always in iracing, so it may help,  folks also say to turn the wheel graphic off so you cant see the delay also helps with driving, I always turn that off in games so I am not sure how bad it is in ACC.

The graphics are a let down and look very cartoony, even with everything on epic the draw distance seems to have a lot of popping,

I hope it works out for Kunos and doesn't send them broke so they can make AC2, must be costing them a lot of money for all the licenses and man hours to pay for to make the game for not a lot of return and in the long run not a lot of replay value, which is only my opinion because of the series they chose, if you like blancpain this is no issue  8) ;D

Yeah the same with the numb car thing , I think my ffb is spiking to often so not getting the nuances of the feel of the car, possibly also need to set up the car with throttle of oversteer i'm guessing , but I have only played it a few times . Maybe for me is also that i have been driving alot of small nimble cars that are able to be thrown around a fair bit .
Most of my time has been spent trying to get triple screen working on it , will try again tonight .
Would like to race them online but severe lack of experience in them currently.

Easy fix just do a full reformat and install windows again.   ;)

That must be so frustrating .

Yeah ,Tho I remember seeing a post about using a program to enable borderless windowed mode just looking for it now. Bad triple screen is still better than no triple screen I think

Even though enduros are not my thing due to beer and toilet needs :)  I will be keen to hear what you think of them
Well, what I like about enduros full stop (ACC or not) is the concentration required, trying to keep brain fades to a minimum. In ACC, you have to deal with obviously changing day/night lighting conditions, changing weather conditions, changing rubbered racing line. What is intriguing so far is the tyre pressures. You don't just dial in the optimal pressures and fuggedaboutit. The temperature is changing, especially day to night, and so your pressures are always changing, going up or going down. At a pit stop, you have to try to predict if the temp is going up or down, and how high or low to set your PSI. Your tyre pressures may be too high for a while, but then settle into an optimal range later in the stint, or vice versa. And of course you have changing tyre wear, changing fuel loads etc changing the car dynamics as well.
As to the driving feel, I like how the cars feel like they have weight, and don't just go sliding off the track at the drop of a hat, but aren't on rails either. I don't have any numbness in the FFB. All the cars feel, and sound, very different.

+1 although I haven't spent much time optimising set ups and pit stops/refuelling/tyres, I just like to drive. I joined rooz a couple of weeks ago, qual 4th?  .5 off the front runner which I was pretty happy with but got punted off in the first corner, someone thought 3wide was a good idea, the inside guy pushing the middle guy into me (being on the outside). Ended up pretty boring racing then. Should do more pit testing because when I went in for fuel and tyres, the tyre box was unchecked and was unable to check it in time so came back out with the same set lol. Is there a tyre wear indicator? Anyways I quit early when I saw the leaders catch me, I'll join in again on Mon. Any thoughts on pit strategy, fuel/tyres? I was going to go with 2 stop but think it best with 1?

I'm not having any issues with wheel sensitivity myself, but it maybe worth checking the wheel rotation (degrees) is set up correctly.

A full reinstall of the game should do the trick, hopefully, if you haven't tried yet Bacchulum.

We're getting a bit OT here, but I just pit once, half way, start with a full tank. There's no wear indicator while you're driving (like on real life) but you can check the wear depth back in the setup.

Yeah that's the one ,  thanks.  , In the end I tried eyefinity and it worked , which is weird as every other game I have used it for it has given me refresh rate flickering .

I played with the ffb settings a little by dropping to 80% gain and 5% minimum force or there abouts  and the car has a lot better feel now, will only get better with further tinkering I hope.

Currently trying that Wally but it won't let me.
Apparently, I need to 'specify a tag', but I have NFI what a tag is and it gives me no options or explanations.
Do you know what they're on about?

Add a critical tag from the drop down on the thread title.

I did that.
But there's another field, no drop down box, that's labeled tags:

Tags:
Multiple tags may be separated by commas. You must specify at least 1 tag(s).

I'll just put any crap in there and hope it doesn't get me banned.

Something was up with the timing those races so if you are like me and got 2 dnfs I am sorry, but seeing its all a bit of fun I will leave as is and anyway the most important thing is Imperious didn't get a dnf first race :D

Very nice to get a win here, all helped by the fact that I picked a fast car this week, and one that handles well too.
Pole position was unexpected, I think I got a good slide into the final turn which gained me some time.
Hit the wall on lap 18 which nearly let Jarmel get 1st off me.
I'm not out in front very often so usually a bit worried I'll bugger it up which happens occasionally. best not
to look at the laps remaining too much.

Race 2 near the end Mael and I had a bump or so and both of us were trying to redress each other letting some
others behind go past, sorry about that I should have sped up a bit earlier. didn't matter in the end really as dodgy track
timings meant we were given a DNF.

That bump was all my fault, missed the 2nd to 3rd gear shift on that last corner which has the same affect as pulling the handbrake  ;D  Cost me about 4 places! It was a very good battle until then.

The big question is.... how did Humper get such speed out of the Mazda?
