How much I wonder, I was about to buy this https://www.fanatec.com/au-en/steering-wheels/csl-elite-mclaren-gt3-csqr-aus.html because some of my universal hub and flat1 wheels buttons are starting to get a spongy feels, but they still work just feel not nice and clicky, but thought I would look at xgn and saw your post and think I will wait now.

I already have a formula rim but that looks too cool not to have, but also am not sure what to do now, as much as I want it, it might be silly having 2 formula rims and no gt rim and I do use the gt rim most which is why its wearing out I guess,  decisions decisions

There is a more basic one that's been out a while. This one is new and supposed to be released tonight I think. If you go on the website now it shows it in the image carousel at the top for $520 but the link doesnt work. I have the standard formula rim at the moment. I'd like this one but not sure I can justify that much.

EDIT: Link works now https://www.fanatec.com/au-en/steering-wheels/clubsport-steering-wheel-f1-2018-aus.html

It's all pointless to me, I have a CSR Elite (wheel not detachable  :'( ), so I'd have to spend on a base as well. :(
But I'll be dreaming about it tonight. :P

I am so tempted and nearly had enough drinks to justify having 2 formula rims and a gt rim I am annoyed with

does look awesome. I'm thinking that limited number was just for the first batch so maybe one day I'll grab one.

I copied this from Reddit

I think this is the non-"limited" edition, which was featured in a recent Youtube video.

It's gone, was limited edition so probably no more, unless they have a enough demand for it or something. Looked really nice and almost hit the buy button also, but decided not to since one wheel and a button box will suffice for for me, although had I known they were releasing this I would have bought it sold my forza gt wheel and not bothered with the box.

I'm not convinced it's gone. maybe the yellow version but as per Phil's screenshot there is another version of it that's all black.

You might be right there, I didn't look close enough before. All black looks a better too, imo

That's a different once. has xbox compatabilty and the sides are fully closed off like the old formula rim.

they also released another one the same as the limited edition one but it was blue instead of gold and had ps4 compatabilty

Yeah I didn't see that, the only real difference though is no gaps at the bottom (all buttons, materials are the same) and it's the same as the one in the reddit picture. Not sure if they'd do the limited edition one again, at least any time soon.

I'll open the bets with a 2 month delay due to "issues found in last minute testing".

Well that's a good start. No new Firmware for the base? I heard they've encrypted the firmware on all the new rims so they can't be converted to OSW. Guess that makes sense now they have their own DD.

The Quick Start Guide states:
"Make sure you installed and operate the wheel base and the F1 Steering wheel firmware. You can obtain it from our official website (www.fanatec.com), refer to our download section.

I have a gt rim and the older fanatec formula rim as well and I really do prefer the formula rims,  for me the gt rim makes me drive like I am drifting everywhere,  the f1 rims make me way smoother.
between the 2 f1 rims they both steer the same and have not made me faster dammit, feel ripped off, they both have the same button mapping apart from the dials, but the new limited edition one does look awesomely sweet  ;))))))

I have the BMW GT2 rim and I love it. I also have the old Formula rim which I like to use for the cars that suit the Formula rim.
I don't expect the new rim to make me any faster but damn it's cool to have the thumb wheels and encoders  ;D ;D 8)
And yeah it looks Great  ;D ;D

Very noiccccccce! I've seen several on same on the Aus BSS Facebook page.

What are the grips? I thought it would be Alcantara like the older ones.

Wow.  If you were only to use one rim would it be the F1 or regular round one?

With only a small amount of time on this wheel today, I think the smaller diameter makes it easier to drive/react, I'm going leave it on for a while but I think it's a yes for the F1 rim.
Plus it has more buttons and switches.

Bit rough but a working prototype I designed myself, got the idea from amstudio, his designs are behind a patreon paywall.
Anyone tried the new FANALAB Software, it's pretty cool but the v345 driver it needs wouldn't allow mapping of the sequential shifter to paddles, reloaded older drivers and and it's working again.

Reworked the design a little, magnets sit flush now. Upgraded to custom printer firmware and set the pieces to print with the magnet holes up-right. If anyone wants I can send out a printed set (free), magnets are from office works about 5 bucks. Pretty sure they're compatible with most fanatec shifter switches, I've been using them on the F1 wheel and this set is going on the gt wheel. Attached to the paddle shifters it gives a more tactile clicky feel instead of just a spongy spring, like these but designed myself

New rig, early Xmas present. Next level racing GTTrack. Huge upgrade from the office chair, very solid with a small amount of flex from the recliner back rest (to be expected). Still need to mount the lcd dash and button box. Might be a bit sloppy while I get used to full wheel strength and increased brake force settings, after that though you'll be looking at my rear bumper...lol jk.
Also I've been using only the f1 wheel since I got it and haven't felt the need to use the gt wheel, I think Guybrush was wondering about that. I needed wheels so I can put it away when not in use. Motion would be cool but too expensive for me.
