The halfway point of the season takes us to the big one: The Nordschleife (Endurance Cup layout).
The 1975 grand prix was won by the Argentinian Carlos Reutemann in a Brabham.
You will need the OSRW PIT MOD.
The race will only be 7 laps (so I may have to adjust fuel and tyre wear after some testing - perhaps make them just 1x for this race). If anyone has any thoughts on pit stops in a 7 lap race, shoot. It would probably be best to not require a pit stop - but we'll have to see if tyres can last the full distance without a stop, even at 1x.
Also, I'll make all of practice a qualifying session, so we can actually get more than 1 qualifying lap in.

Phil follows up last week's win with another, leading half the race from Kcender, who lost the race lead after apparently opting to put in a big fuel load at his stop.

Congratulations to Kcender on pole and to Phil.8 for the race win.

I have to call the start accident a racing incident: Matthew was faster than Russ in front of him, and at the same time, Mael got the jump on KCender who bogged down in front of him, and had to go around. As a result of that, Mael and Matthew tangled wheels in a side-to-side impact, that was probably difficult to avoid on a starting grid three cars wide.

The weather is 19 degrees - slightly cooler than the previous race.

The 1975 British Grand Prix was a wet affair, won by Emerson Fittipaldi in a McLaren.

Some interesting history:
From the start – in which a lights system was being used for the first time in any Grand Prix, replacing the traditional national flag – Carlos Pace led from Pryce. Following the hail storm, only six cars were running at the end.

Phil wins the second race of the season, leading from pole to the end, running a long H, Short S pit strategy. Last week's winner Kcender finished 4th.

Congratulations to Phil.8 on pole and the race win.

None. Seanus and Keith had a tangling of wheels which caused a few collisions, but it looked pretty innocent and unavoidable.

Car: Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0
Track: Osterreichring 70's: DOWNLOAD (extract with 7zip).

We're testing this track for Tuesday night season - so bash the barriers and try a pit stop :)

Can you please download the "final" car patch HERE.
This has Seanus' pit stop repair time fixes.

I've updated the practice server with this patch, and it will now kick you for checksum errors if you don't have the latest car patch. Please check that your car is OK before the Tuesday race.

French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard [LINK]

31 laps at the Blancpain layout.

France was host to the 9th round of the season, and it was Lauda on pole ahead of Scheckter and Hunt. The top three maintained their starting positions into the first corner. In the early laps, Regazzoni was on a charge, and got up to second on the sixth lap but his engine blew up and he had to retire. Scheckter soon faded away, giving Hunt second. That was how it ended, with Lauda winning to take a large championship lead, Hunt finishing second and Mass third.

Kcender takes out the first race, leading 33 of the 37 laps, running a two-stop H/S/S strategy.

Hi gents,

Can everybody please download the new mandatory PLP app (1.27) from this thread and unzip it into your Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa folder, replacing any existing files.

What this does is read the number of track limit warnings from the server name, if present (e.g. you'll notice the practice server now has "P6" on the end of its name, to set the number of warnings to 6). If a "Pn" isn't present at the end of the server name, it defaults to whatever you've set in PLP.ini.

This allows me to set the number of warnings per season without you having to fiddle around editing files yourself.

May 8: Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort [OSRW Pit Mod]

37 laps.

Weather: cold. As per the practice server.

The first race in the second half of the season took place in the Netherlands, and pole went to Lauda as usual, with teammate Regazzoni alongside, and Hunt's Hesketh third. The race started on a damp track and Lauda took the lead, with Scheckter up to second ahead of Regazzoni. The order was unchanged until the drivers had to pit for dry tyres. Hunt and Jarier pitted early, and their gamble paid off as they were first and second, with Lauda, Scheckter and Regazzoni third, fourth and fifth respectively. Lauda passed Jarier for second midway through the race, and started closing on Hunt. Jarier almost immediately retired with a tyre failure, and Scheckter who inherited third had his engine blow up with just 12 laps left. Hunt held off Lauda to take his first career win, with Regazzoni completing the podium.

News / New Tuesday season - 1975 Formula 1
« on: May 02, 2018, 08:09:23 PM »

A new Tuesday night season is starting May 8, where we'll be racing 1975 formula 1 cars at selected tracks from the 1975 season, with hour long races with pit stops.

You can read about the season here.

Important PLP change
For this race (and the upcoming season), I'll double the number of warnings before you get penalised for disrespecting track limits, due to the length of the races.

You need to edit your ...\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\apps\python\PitLanePenalty\PLP.ini file with a text editor and change:
