Hi Wally, looks like I might be a non starter too I'm afraid.

If I can make one of the later races I might check in, but don't hold a place for me.

The only turn off so far was "ok its hammer time". If I can't find a way to disable that one it might be a deal breaker. Yes, I do dislike Hamilton that much.

I tried it again in an off-line race, seemed to work fine.

My Crew Chief's last comment after the race, in a dejected tone, was "Let's get out of here, and try and forget about that race." I think I'm going to here that a lot in the future. lol.

Hey Phil, just tried it out tonight.

As I only have 1 monitor I have been using Heli plus the Spotter App. The Crew Chief is tons better than Spotter. I can see that it will be an absolute must for me, as long as it works OK in Multiplayer.

Will try it out tomorrow night and see how it goes, but first impression is its very good and it also add some "immersion" as well.

Thanks for the heads up.

Did we ever give the AC Ford Escort a run?

Could be fun on the Pommie tracks.

Hi Wally, I might take the Nismo 370 as well please.

Hi Wally, if I am reading your suggestion correctly and let’s say that there are 16 drivers, that means that the slowest driver will have to sit out the next 15 races. One race per night, that’s 4 months, 2 races per night that’s still 2 months. That’s exciting for the fast guys but being one of the slower Tuesday nighters, that doesn’t give me a lot of warm and fuzzies.

Although you know that I will always sign up for a season no matter what the format, there may be some that look for alternatives to fill their vacant Tuesday nights.

But I love the idea of choosing your own ballast per race. It will be crucial to work out a ratio for the ballast points to offset the possible lose of position points. For the fast guys there will be strategic and tactical decisions made each race like “Do I risk a position or 2 to gain ballast points” etc. For the slower guys like myself, just forget about ballast and Season results and enjoy the usual night’s racing but with the possibility of racing with opponents that I may not usually be sharing the track with.

Just my 2c worth.

Great night for me. As I said last night it is nice to start at the front and not end up at the tail as is usual for me on Tuesday nights.

Race 1. Great race long battle with Wally. Unfortunately he made one mistake early in the race and it was on my favourite corner (the last). EVERYBODY knows that I don't handle pressure very well, but I somehow managed to keep him at bay for the rest of the race, but it was great fun. GB and Phil were the class of the field as usual and there was no catching them. Very happy with 3rd.

Race 2. Reverse grid. Those around me bolted from the start and managed to make their way through the field with apparent ease, where I, on the other hand, had to be patient and gradually make my way forward. As I get older I find the aggression is waning and I will always opt for a safe pass rather than screw up a race for somebody else. Joe was doing a sterling job keeping the battling GB and Phil at bay until someone had some connection problems, and Joe, being the perfect gentleman pulled out in case he was warping too badly. Luckily Phil called the race then and Joe deservedly got the middle podium position. After Joe pulled out Phil and GB had a coming together and I did a Bradbury and inherited another 2 position leaving me in 2nd spot.

Lovin' the friendly vibe of Thursday nights. Great fun.

Thanks Phil, but I'm not sure what the pace is going to be. Fun track, laser scanned, very well done.

Hi Wally, for no particular reason I'll take the Supra thanks.

Wow Wally, you must really like doing this stuff.

It will be great to see the final result. Anything that will help me go even a little bit faster is welcome.

I  fiddled with the gearing, bit it didn't feel quite right.  I used the new Race Essentials app which wanted me to shift at 6000 rpm, at peak power.

Wally, I was changing at 7000 rpm. According to the car specification page max torque was at 5K and max power at 6k. I changed the gearing so that changing at 7k was right in the range of max torque. It didn't help much as you were still faster than me on the night, but I had some great (albeit lonely) fun.

Its nice not to be at the rear of the field as is my usual style.

I think that as ppl get used to the car it will tighten up the field for some close racing.

But Max torque was 5k, not 7k?

Sorry Wally, I meant that by changing at 7k it dropped the revs back to 5k which is in the max torque range.
