I bit the bullet and installed this today . . . it took a little while . . . two downloads and a few tweaks in Content Manager and it was done.
HUGE improvement to the visuals.
I now have working headlights, full rain spray effects, night to day lighting transition (very pretty) with time multiplier,  tonnes of track lighting and a lot of weather types to choose from.
Apparently it doesn't work online but for your own fun I think its well worth it.
Here are a few shots . . . there are more tweaks to the appearance that can be done (I'm missing the road wet shimmer atm)
Night racing adds a whole new element to the game... :)

Is that different to the "shader patch" that also adds lights and night driving?

Its SOL 1.0 in addition to AC Shader Patch.
Not sure what shader patch did on its own, but I think SOL adds dynamic weather control, improved graphics, 24hr Day Night cycle etc.

Maybe we could organise a Discord session workshop to make it easier for peeps who would like to install these mods?

Yeah, I need it.
With SOL weather selected, I cannot get night time. :-\
Time set to midnight and still the sun shines.
So I haven't seen the transition yet. :'(

Open the readme file from sol for information and you should find a link to the shader patch, or search RD for it

I have the shader patch.
Night time with 4Seasons works fine, but it doesn't have transition.
I deleted 4seasons in case of conflict, but still no night with Sol.

I've also tried 3 complete re-installs of Sol today but I can't work it out. :'(

I installed the Lights  v0.1.25 preview 49 first, then..
I manually pasted the three folders into AC, then via Content Manager, activated the mod.
Deleted all the other Weather files.
After that I adjusted a bunch of video settings as per instructions.

I did fail on my first attempt with an older Lights package where cars where falling through space but the stated version seemed to fix that.

And just to keep you interested, today I added Wet Mod 2.0 which adds wet versions of various tracks.

Side Note: On the wet tracks the different surfaces seem noticeably effected.  eg fake grass on corner is extra slippery etc.
