Cheers,

I was hoping to make a run tonight but just got home too late.

A tip for future rounds especially if your running your custom skins with names. Add some extra cars into the field but put them all at the front on the entry list. This way any others that come in dont take up the reserved cars and so end up having the wrong name on it.

The way it works with a open server but some guid's added same as the tuesday practice server. If anyone that has a guid assigned to a car joins they will get this car no matter where it is on the emtry list as long as its not taken. But if anyone joins without a guid assinged to a car they get the first empty slot even if its assigned to a guid. Then when the person it was assigned to joins after that then they get the next empty car assigned to anyone unless the one assigne to them is still empty.

If you think you may get 5 or 6 pop in best to leave 6 or so cars at the front of the entry list so all others should get the proper car assinged to them.

Thanks Marty, Bacchulum had that brainwave on the night, remembering that that's how you had done it.

Was a good night for me. Race one started from pole and was able to stay out of any battles for a comfortable (and rare) win. Race 2  still had good pace but kept getting involved in accidents I should have been able to avoid. Still fairly good result and worth it even for just seeing Bruce's monumental late braking effort into the last turn, braking point was 50m earlier Bruce  ;D

The track was a unusual challenge with a lot of the braking zones in corners, no straight line braking here. Should be fun in some of the rear engine Porsche's

For the next race I would suggest upping the ballast significantly, it does not seem to affect the Escort a lot.

I also had an enjoyable night on a "bastard of a track" with someone to race with most of the time. I just do not like "airfield" tracks ,they
can only be made interesting by the "corners" because the rest of the layout can only be billiard table flat and boring.
Sorry for my enthusiasm in race 2 last corner 1st. lap where I got carried away wit the GO pedal and collided with a few cars.
Also ,nearly forgot to mention, I was very happy to finish in front of Imperious in race one (even if I did close the door in the last corner),
the last time I did that was a very long time ago. Lack of practice time on Imps side would have been the reason though.

Sorry at a conference,
I had a ball plenty of battles, too many "try go faster" mistakes, making me drive harder to pick it up again.
Mael I will have to watch the replay.

I struggled with this track more than the others, but stuck with it and got a better time during the race than any of my practise laps during the week. A better setup would have got me into low 1:15s but I was content with getting a 1:16 flat.  I did spin once going too wide and fast into turn 1, also had a few rubs with some of you as you tried to get by me..

Sorry Joe for the erratic braking.  I should warn people it's not safe to sit on my arse into a braking zone.. With the joystick it's very hit and miss when applying braking and gearing down.. I find I can't brake late with the escort and use the gears and throttle more, as soon as I start using the brake more I lock up even after I adjusted the bias I still can't find a sweet spot. I'm either locking up rears or fronts.

I saw a green car come off on a tight right hander and I was focusing on it, but then missed my braking zone and ended up I think along side him and the poor guys behind me had nowhere to really go.

The ballast system worked to keep the racing closer, I lost ground but got it back in the closing laps of the first race, I even made a few passes and mini battles were had in both races.

I really enjoyed that. I know it was probably mostly because of the ballast, but both races last night were probably the first two races that I have ever passed multiple people simply because I was faster than them rather than them making mistakes.

You had good pace. Mid 14's? That was about the pace I had which awarded me 100kgs. You may wanna slow it down or Phil will be giving you some weight next  ;D

Sorry Joe for the erratic braking.

No worries. I did a similar thing to Bruce which gave you that place back before that. I was just over driving it in the first race which doesn't really work with this car.

I mentioned that I hit flat 15s by the end of the first race but that didn't get me any ballast! But yeah managed a couple of mid 14s in race 2 :)
