Bathurst Track for AC
« on: January 10, 2015, 04:34:30 PM »
Why haven't we tried Bathurst (Track download)?  I just got the bug to go look for it and have a couple of laps in the mini, man this appears to be okay?

Bruce, That version has problems - 10 pits and timing issues.

This is a better version:

Problem is I have no idea of the provenance so cannot post the original download site.

Pretty sure this is the shift version and so take away the "f" and it also describes the version. More then twice as wide as the real track so I tried it got to the top of the mountain. Pulled over exited and uninstalled.  ;D

Yep. Too classic a track to mess with bad versions...

There has been a better version released though its quite obviously a rip from project cars or is it rf2 as ISI officialy released Bathurst from SMS. I havent driven the track in rf2 and there are some changes from the Pcars version though base layout is identical as are most trackside objects.  ;) Seeing SMS gave ISI pernission to officialy use their track its also quite possible this could become an official AC track the same way. Id love a laser scanned version though but its unlikely so this may have to do us.

I see that RD shut down the Estoril thread of another track clearly ripped from rf2, so this may not stay up much longer too at that site. It is the best bathurst in AC by far and well worth a download. Running it in mp last nite with a few and it would be a blast in a league race.

I have a gt3 server up seeing as this week is the Bathurst 12hr, and another combo in a slower gt86 if anyone wants to race on this. Damage is up so stay off the walls.  ;D

Yep, downloaded the "good" Bathurst a few nights back and gave it a run.

It seems good, although I think T1, T2 and the left hander at the end of Conrod straight have too much camber compared to reality.  T2 is almost like a version of the karousel.

I'd like to have some races around it, seems like it would be fun.

T2 does have some banking but I do think they overdid it a fair bit as you say, still outside the scanned Iracing track its the best version around and it is fun in pcars in the rain.

The best mod version of Bathurst I ever raced was in the original rFactor from, believe it nor not, about 12 years ago!  I think the geometry of the track is a bit more accurate:

That track was good in its day but I think this pcars version is a bit better then that, its really not that far off. The other rf was ripped ages ago into AC but by the dodgiest russian and quite poorly. The layout itself looked a bit dated for me and I dont mind this one too much until maybe we get a scanned version.
