« on: April 22, 2020, 11:14:12 AM »
Fun run to try the Lotus 98T is up on the practice server. We'll have a few 10 lap sprints.

Track: Hockenheimring

Setups are fixed (to default), except for:
  • Tyre compound & pressure
  • Final gear ratio
  • Fuel
  • Turbo %

Yep, we're all gluttons for punishment. Have you tried turbo at 100%?????

The overly cambered default setup doesn't help, the full surface of the rear's is rarely used.
I 'choke' the power by short shifting until the aero kicks in, and that's a shit-load more when the tyres are cold. ;)

When you try 100% turbo, use the qualy tyres, you'll feel like a god. 8)

Bah humbug to fixed setups. If the setup proved to be not ideal, then the car is just too ornery to drive around the problem.

yes
and you have to be so light on the right foot.
but i also did it with the longest last gear - which is actually great! but blew my engine in 5 laps :D

Trick is to map a boost up/down button and use it as required during a race . . . as you said the engine won't last long otherwise.

Trick in the setup is to dump some of that 190l odd of fuel.

Yes, it's not the easiest car to drive, that's for sure. I'm just going to set turbo to 10% and go for a relaxing drive....... maybe.
