Title: PitConfig 1.0
Post by: Phil.8 on November 21, 2015, 02:56:01 PM
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/pitconfig.8032/ (http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/pitconfig.8032/)

Here's a version attached that fills your car to the selected amount, rather than adding that much fuel. E.g. if you set the fuel to 80, the pit stop will fill your car up to 80 litres. Just unzip this file to replace your steamapps\common\assettocorsa\apps\python\PitConfig folder.

Sorry for the admin edit; new 1.4 version is out. Attached.
It's much nicer packaged, too.

Now that looks handy. ;D

Wow. This could be classed a cheat as it removes all the guesswork and clicking in a pitstop, but it would be good if everybody knew about it and used it.

Out of curiosity, I checked the code. It's clever... it sends mouse clicks to the correct spots on the AC pit window to fulfil your settings. Brilliant!

Moving a cursor around a screen trying to find the correct button to click or clicking FILL simply because it is a quicker "click" doesn't really have anything to do with a "driving simulator" does it!

It adds realism, as the stop is pre-planned.
No-where do they decide the fuel after the car has stopped. :-X

It's providing functionality that AC really should have built in.

I added a comment on RD: "It would be good to be able to define multiple pitstop strategies e.g. stop 1, change tyres only, no fuel. Stop 2, fill fuel, no tyres, etc."

Pre-set strategies that you could just click through on the run would be good too. ;)

For what it's worth, it works for me. I'm running the same res as you.

it works and shows the animation and fuel going in, but when I look at amount of fuel in car its still the same  as before pitstop

All seems good to me, even looking at the fuel. If it shows the game's "fuel going in" progress bar, then at that stage the PitConfig app has done it's work, and the refuelling is just up to AC at that point. Maybe there's some other issue? Maybe with the app that is showing you your fuel?

I esc back to pits to see how much fuel was in, unless doing that puts it back to my original amount

Yep, that's it - going back to pits gives you the original amount again.

Excellent work Wally.  This is how the app should be anyway IMO.

New version:

- New preset system for different strategies. Presets are saved on exit and are available the next time AC is initiated if the car is not changed.
- Compact UI. Old UI is still available selecting "0" on the "compact" option of PitConfig.ini.

This app is great, if we could also make pressure and aero changes in the stop then it wouod pretty much have all thats needed for pits. The multi presets woukd be great and you can do the adjustments while driving before a stop if needed. Even better if you could have shortcut to map to the wheel to make adjustments and also use the wheel to make adjustments rather then mouse.

But even with mouse controls its better then nothing, changing compounds is quite useless without pressure adjustments and also if there was to be time scale in mp and temp changes during the race pressure changes would be greatly needed.

Even in a race as is id love to be able to adjust pressures during the race, if you notice they are a bit out in your first stint being able to adjust for next run would be so usefull. Now your just stuck with what you start and pitstops are rather basic with just repairs, fuel and tyre changes.

I can't have less than an app that verbally communicates with me and provides advice based on telemetry, and plans all the changes needed for me!
:D

Marty's earlier point is a good one - if you use this app on Tuesdays, make sure fuel is set to zero!

Out of interest, does the new version of the app fill up to the number of litres indicated, or add the number of litres indicates?

I'm pretty sure you can now set it to do either.

Maybe hire a team of engineers and hire Wally also to code some stuff up.  ;D

Just be aware that there are some situations where this app won't work. One such situation appears to be sometimes if you overshoot your pit box and have to reverse. If you don't end up perfectly in your pit box,the app won't work. The app author is looking at this.

I had overshot & reversed in the previous race & it worked...

It might not work if you're not quite in your pit box, but close enough for the pit stop to happen.

OH, I see.  It's a bit weird that AC does not expose the proper pit detection properly (by the sound of it).  Oh well.

New version 1.5 is available:

V1.5 available:
- Improved pit box detection. Solves the problems reported when driving backwards (after missing the stop position) and pit spots around the finish line (thanks to Esotic and AdderSwim).
- Now PitConfig supports Window Mode.

A great addition! If you haven't pressed F1 in a pit stop before, it looks a whole lot better from cockpit view.

1.7.4 available:
- Force the camera to keep the current state during the pitstop. Example: if you use cockpit camera, you will see the pitstop from inside the car, not from above. To disable this feature change PitConfig.ini "pitcamerachanger" to "0".

I did a few times, and indeed it looks a million times better (no idea what was going through Kunos's mind when they decided to have the view from above forced on. Great addition, thank you.
