Haha. The only person I'd consider an 'alien' I've raced with would be Guybrush. Plenty of very good people here, but he was another level.

Another mediocre performance there and I may be able to get the Abarth. However, I'm not sure if this guy is really giving you an advantage on a faster track...seems to lack top speed a bit.

Yeah, it's strength is really cornering. At Modena, my Nissan could pass Abarths on the relatively short straights, but then died in the corners.

When you look at the race graphs for Modena, Joe and Freezer were clearly too fast for the field, off in a race of their own. The point of this car dealer is to promote closer racing (with a strategic element). Joe and Freezer both got their cash by having a bad round with DNFs, not by being slow, which is not really the intent. So from this round, I'll change it so that you don't get money for your finishing position, but by your fastest lap times. In other words, the fastest guy won't earn any cash; the slower guys will get more cash. This way, even if you don't start or finish some races, your cash reserves won't be artificially boosted.

So if you dnf a race, you won't cash in? eg if you drop out halfway due to damage?  Or is it for dns (did not start) situations?
Or is it simply a measure on laptimes, nothing to do with dnf's directly?
What if you don't finish a single lap?  (like myself in r3 last round)

It's based on the averages of your fastest laps. So if you drop out half way through a race, you'll still post a fastest lap for that race, and that will be used. If you only start 2 of 3 races (or don't even complete a lap in one race), your fastest lap times for the two races you did race in will be averaged.

I know from experience that you need to be careful at Church bend (the very fast right hander at the bottom of the hill):

The fast line there, approached at around 200 kph, is to start far left and then cut across early to the left apex, to carry that speed. There are always people who, having brought more speed through Village, try to pass on the inside there. There is not much the car in front can do to pull out of a pass like that, at that speed. So be careful!

I find it very hard to judge that corner and keep missing the apex :(:(

While I'm sure with practice I could go quicker in the Mustang it's horrible to drive so may stick with my trusty Nissan which can actually go around corners.

You've got to turn in very early - probably a lot earlier than you think.
