Still no good for me unless I can change FOV, but if Bird's correct - "you have to wade through an hour of video" - I agree with him, fuck that. :-X

I still tried it again and couldn't feel any slides, when I managed to get the Sauber C9 to slide (it's way too planted).

I gave up on it and got a refund, I'm afraid.

I tried the tweeks, but ralised one problem for me which my rose coloured glasses (or being a crap sim racer) may have missed.
when traveling straight, ie straight wheel, at speed, the virtual wheel shakes, but my wheel doesn't! with or without the 2 tweek files.

I think I need to find, 'shake like is real' check box...

ps I still have fun in the Merc 300SEl 6.8 :)

It's been raised.  It'd be good to be able to switch off the virtual wheel, TBH. I don't like it anyway - the real one is right in front of me, what's the point?

I use the virtual wheel for one thing only. It tells me what the game software THINKS I am doing with my real wheel. If the two don't exactly match by default then the software is stuffed IMHO. Finally, the steering should exactly match the real car's characteristics - weight, lock, feel etc. it is meant to simulate a real car!

AC (and Netkar before it) is the only game I have used that does this.

There are FoV +/- keybinds in options, and also in the camera settings you can set the FoV for each individual camera mode.

when traveling straight, ie straight wheel, at speed, the virtual wheel shakes, but my wheel doesn't!

there's an option either under controller settings or FFB (not sure) to toggle visual steering dampening

Finally, I've tried the FFB profiles posted earlier.
I can tell now what the car does, but the car itself does not feel right. Not just one; I've tried the BAC mono, the Ginetta gt3 and the Lotus '49 at Brands Hatch.

But they just don't fell right.
Hard to explain; the cars feel a bit disconnected, bit floaty, not well planted (I've driven a few laps to allow for everything to warm up - still), and they have a tendency to smoke up the rear - even the low powered ones - at pretty high speeds (both rears, so it wasn't an open LSD).

I also have problems with the menus, they don't like to react to mouse clicks with the wheel connected (I guess the program thinks the wheel is some kind of game controller).
Also; the audio would need adjustments; I can never hear the tyres from inside the car. Never. Even in the open one.
I also detest that someone else is driving me out of the pits.  I can do it thanks!

I guess it's just not my piece of cake.  Back to AC - that just feels right to me.

I'm the same, Bird. As my refund would suggest, for me personally, I've written off pCars. It never felt right to me. I tried to voice my concerns on the WMD forums, but that was just pissing in the wind. I'll probably give Dirt Rally a go just for a bit of fun - something completely different that AC doesn't already do a lot better.

Should've done that Wally, I just received my 3rd dividend payout, another $20. ;D 8)

But I invested my refund a year ago and it's now worth $125.

I just like the irony that pCars pays for all my AC content. 8)

And it just keeps giving.   I've received another 21 Euros today.  Best game ever.  I don't play it and it keeps paying me :D

Hmmmm... maybe my refund was premature.
