I've got to say I don't get the pit stop thing. It's just more opportunities for disappointment and it doesn't add anything to the racing by trying to negotiate pit lane.
Sorry Glen

Thanks Phil.
Well a new track, certainly different, some great flowing sections, that should produce some exciting racing.

Quick and easy track to learn but with changing radius turns difficult to master. Starts to get real slippery after a handful of laps too.
Looks like it will be cracker.

My move up the inside of You down the hill obviously never payed off and I found it a lot harder to actually
get back on the track without spinning out everywhere which put me back down the order near last..

Seemed like you were out braking me everywhere, I thought you had that done easy coming down the hill. Was quite surprised when you just kept going straight out onto the grass.

Was it just me or did the cars feel completely different this week after the AC update?
I seemed to be slip sliding everywhere or is it just RA is a slippery track?
Anyway had plenty of fun with little battles here and there throughout the race which usually ended with me yielding in the braking zones.
Thanks all

Holy cow.
Thought I'd just jump in quickly and do a couple of practice laps before Thursday.
Boom. 8 hour download required.
You've been steamed

Can just sneak under 2 minutes a lap on fresh rubber.
So I'll leave the maths with you guys

All the chatter about tires had me worried. I was running around up front for a bit at the start but was quite happy to surrender so I could work on saving rubber. There was no way I was pitting! I've never used the pits in AC and have no software addons telling me anything.

So I just ran around quite lonely for most of the race trying not to slide the car anywhere. It started to get a little interesting toward the end as Marty's tires were dying and he get past then slip off the track, repeat and repeat. Then right in the final laps it started getting real interesting as Bruce was catching fast with Bird on the radio talking up the "fast times" Bruce was ticking off. I was desperately slip sliding around the track trying to stay ahead. Of coarse having no idea he was a lap down but it made for an exciting finish none the less.

Great track, really glad we switched to updated graphics version.
Not so sure about my strategy of nursing the car round, probably would have been better if I knew something about pitting and could have let merc rip.

In saying that it probably wouldn't have helped as GW's pace was awsome. WD all.

You could bind the clutch to a button as a temporary measure ?

I didn't think you could do this in AC? I'm not able to get an axis to respond to key input. Are you doing this with some other software work around?

sorry Lenore9 :'(
After all those restarts...
Thanks Humper, I probably should have waited to pass in a better spot on the track, no hard feelings.

No that pass was fine I'd given you the room to do it. I just wasn't ready for how much brake the sierra needed at that kink

Question. With the track holes, once falling in space and time I can't stop the car to get back to the pits. Had to use task manager to shut AC and start again. I presume there is a better way of getting back to pits?

Server is up, I have left gears, fuel and brakes adjustable just so I dont have to change and upload new fixed setup for different tracks :)

Thanks Phil. Supa Dupa

I'm more than happy not to pit.
I think the default benz with the tallest gears feels good here. No need to change anything.

I should also say it's easy to miss a braking marker and it'll be a 4 min lap by the time you find your way back to the track
