If everyone hates it I will just go back to a ballast race
-
Sounds good to me, (I hope Wally is happy :) )

-
I like the constant handicap changes, mixes it up a little, though I'm still convinced I shouldn't have had ballast on my first h-shifter race as it was essentially a double handicap ;)
-
I'm happy :)
-
I am as happy as I can be.
-
sounds good.
-
Works for me :)
-
Ran a few laps. Car is so much nicer to drive without ballast. You can also pull away off the line
-
Sorry you got lumbered with me Joe. Just blame Phil.
I could promise to do some serious practice with the H-shifter, but I don't think it would help.
-
We'll be alright Rob! But yeah, I blame Phil for most things...

What about that new old Porsche - the Porsche 718 Spyder RS? That's quite a fun car.

Big thank you for organizing the racing and servers :) Had a blast and honestly didn't think I'd be up the top. Had a bad night tonight which took a toll, but congrats to Bacchulum for the win and Mael for finishing 3rd!
Looking forward to next season :)

Thanks Phil for an awesome season.
What an ending. Race 1 I was in shock to finished 6th with only a few bruises and scratched paint but no offs or spins for a change. I was expecting to have a lonely race at the back of the field. Tapped AJ in the butt in opening lap on turn 3 and then came around the corner to see Mael facing the wrong way and managed to not hit a stationary car for a change. Had fun holding off guys that had spun off and I had passed, had a close call with Mael who owes me a respray lol. I'm just happy I placed before unfuckn for a change :P
race 2. slow start as usual.. got swamped.. I tapped Joe? (sorry) trying to keep the car on the track under brakes. Then had Seanus catching me as I was catching rooshooter, and next thing I know we are 3 wide into turn 2. I was the piggy in the middle and I backed off to give them both room or Seanus would have pushed me into rooshooter and forced us both off. Unfortunately as we came around to go down the hill I had not backed off enough and rooshooter started coming back across and we touched :(, causing him to spin (sorry roo) I know how that feels for the rest of the race.
Video for each race will be out by sunday.. providing someone can upload race 1 for me please.

Thanks Phil, the season was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the Escort.
-
Well, I guess I retire from Thursday Night racing, effective immediately. :o
Nah, I have too much fun on Thursdays. 8) ;D
Phil, I thought Tom was uncatchable? ???
I'll still take it. ;D

Me do math bad :)

It was certainly Bacchulum's racing that got me the win tonight, not mine.
It's really only the last few races I came to grips with this car, with it's bouncy suspension and seemingly constantly
spinning rear tyres. Interestingly I got better after replacing an AMD R9-270 with a GTX1070. a rather enormous leap
in graphics ability. and price too. Maybe I'll upgrade to that new AMD Ryzen cpu coming out early next year to replace ageing
I5-750 @4 ghz. Apparently it's going to give Intel a run for its money for once.
Thanks for the season. My goal for 2017 is to be more consistent, as that's one area I've gone backwards in this year.
-
Thanks for a really, really enjoyable season, and congrats to Bacchulum on the win!
-
Congrats Dave, Tom and Mael.
Thanks Phil for a great fun Season, really enjoy Thursdays. Can't wait for next Year, I might even do a little practice for the races.

Race 1:
After getting swamped at the start found myself on the inside line before the downhill left-hander (T3?). Despite braking early I still managed to lock the front brakes skidding into the poor driver on my outside (sorry!) getting turned around in the process. Spend a nervous few seconds watching cars desperately trying to avoid crashing into me. This left me in last place with a bit of frustration to work out ;D
But rubbing is racing in tin-top racing was happy to finish 5th, with a bit of Shameless's paint on my car.
Race 2:
All the passing in race 1 held me in good stead with starting from the back of the grid not holding any unknown challenges. I was lucky enough to have a buffer to Phil for the last few laps and used all of it.
Thanks for the season Phil, really enjoyed the Ford.
-
Congratulations to Dave, Tom and Mael!
Congratulations to Phil for another fantastic season.
Thanks Wally for not rejecting me as a team mate, I thought at one point if I can keep on the black stuff, you and I could come home as a pair, but alas, concentration was not at peak and fractured more in race 2.
Race 1, blinder of a start picking up a couple of places, slipped past a few incidents easily, phew... and was looking at Wally's bumper and settled in to a rhythm. Put in 3 good laps and become involved in an incident and moved on to make a stupid mistake on turn 2, and waited for the filed to pass by...
Race 2, was not too hot by then, but had some good racing inbetween crappy racing!
Overall = Fun.
Season overall = Fun.
-
Missed race one, race two there were a few incidents I got caught up in so was near the back of the pack. Slowly reeled in Seanus and had a good battle with some side by side panel rubbing eventually getting by on the last lap where he unfortunately thought the race was finished.
You know you drive your sim rig more than your real car when you go to push the clutch in and there isn't one :o

but great practice for thrashing the old family wagon around the streets! :-X

I drive my real car so infrequent it does just feel weird. The steering wheel is way to big for a start! ;D
-
A real pity I missed most of this season, sounds like it was pretty good fun. Have tried a couple of times to do a few laps but doesn't work too well - foot is still too sore - seems I have archilles tendinitis. Hope I'm able to do more races next season. Trialling right foot braking but having trouble in close racing due to missing braking points or locking up too easily under pressure.
-
Yes sorry to see you exit early last night, hope that heel heals quickly for next season.

Best of luck Gratulin and don't ignore it like I did. Took me almost 1.5 years to overcome chronic Achilles tendinitis, can now jog about 3km without discomfort after 2 years. Getting it healed in the acute phase is a lot better.
-
Thanks Phil it was a great season as evidenced by the popularity of all the races.
I, like Imperious, only felt comfortable with the car for the last few races. Congratulations to all the podium people , to win a race against this bunch of racers is no mean feat !! I have really had some of the best racing this season, regardless of where I may have finished an individual race, with always someone to catch or be caught by. I think people also really enjoy the challenge of mastering this car, something to keep in mind for the next season.
Hope you recover soon Gratulin.

Did anyone else notice the disappearing ambulance? ???
At Pilgrims Drop, on the left behind the bridge there was an ambulance next to the marshals.
In the mirror, though, there was no ambulance, just marshals! :o
Once I noticed I couldn't ignore it, I checked every mirror in the car, every lap.
(almost missed Hawthorns a few times doing it :-[ )
This track's not up to standard :P :P
Thanks Phil for the season. 8)
All the different 'ballast' solutions made it unpredictable and more fun. ;D ;D

Lol your doing it wrong then, try keep your eye on the black stuff. I heard you will normally end up where you are looking so looking for an Ambulance you will most likely end up in one. ;D
