Ok so I've got a few track vids from before, too.   These were done with the stage2 tuned Toyota 86 - I loved that car, too, especially on the track, it was meant to be taken out.
I've a wet session record here, too.  But it's nowhere near that bad.  (to see the others if you like, copy this link in - sorry I can't just leave put the link here, the forum software converts it into a video: www dot youtube dot com/watch?v=NoKwB7upTVc&list=UUZ7i-XgnXjRB3zIqO0X1hrw )

Also I dared not completely take the TC off at this point, yet.  Later I had sessions with TC off, but I have stopped making videos of these sessions after a while.   I should have taken tc off earlier, it's a lot more educational; and catching the 86 mid-spin is actually very easy - with years of online experience, hehe. ;)

Nice one Bird, Wakefield was the track I went to for a lot of Historic racing ( I used to live in Canberra) great track for spectators as you can see all of the track :). I will be interested in watching some dry track action of you ;) from your link.

Nice of you to say that, thanks.

Well, the link is there, I think that gives you all the videos...some of them are Wakefield, some are Eastern Creek.

Here's an early one, fast lap at Wakefield.
This is all on semi slicks in the dry, so I could pull very nice corners :)

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year, gents!

Even on a 100/50 you'll only get 10-12MB/s  (megaBytes) at best.
I can achive that with multi-threaded downloads eg via Steam or torrents.  Only if the server on the other end does not throttle connections, and if the server isn't overseas.

30MB/s ~ 240mbps, at that speed you'd start noticing other hardware limits on your local network / hard drive, etc, even windows drivers can eff up (been there).
It's really proper fast.

ADSL2 was ~24mbps tops (but that was on a line no more than a few meters long) so most would only be able to achieve half of that at best on average.

Maybe you recall ~3MB/s (ADSL, if you were extremely close to the exchange).
Or possibly it was on your NBN in the early days, but it wasn't multi-threaded download so it did not use the full bandwidth.

5.7MB is 45.6mb. You didn't make that mistake in your post, but I mention it just incase.
As usual you are right Seanus ::) I have mixed up Bits and Bytes :-[ :-[ :-[.

Why do I think 5.7MB is slow, I am sure ADSL2+ download speeds were faster, or is that just wishful thinking.

Heavily wishful.  No adsl2 was able to do 40+mbps (megabits per second).  But software is getting bigger, that may give the impression that things are slower.  Red Dead 2 is enormous, so...

But since you've fttp/ftth, you could get 100 or even 150 or 250 downstream connections (admittedly, the over-100 connections are rare)

Hardware & Reviews / Re: Monitors are not recognised...can you help?
« on: November 14, 2019, 08:44:54 AM »
Well, I've had all sorts of components fail;  and the support is absolute rubbish without exception.  They all get to sent back to Asia somewhere, and you have to wait months for a replacement - which is simply not an option with a computer.
I thin it'd be high time we started complaining to the authorities en masse; they need to force an instant replacement on the shops, on items under warranty.  Let them deal with many months of wait.

Not to mention, deferring warranty to the manufacturer is probably illegal, too.

Eye candy  is nice, but this is the bit that makes me think I'll never buy it.  I've done this enough times already.

...But Rockstar's mission design hasn't changed

Red Dead 2's rigid mission design uses the open world as little more than a stage for the same missions we've been playing in Rockstar games since Grand Theft Auto 3. Head to the map marker, ride and talk with someone to another map marker, shoot people, chase someone, and ride to the final map marker, chatting all the way. Any misstep within the bounds of the mission design means trying again. Don't take a shortcut, don't alert the guard, don't think up your own solution to any problem—ignore the massive, gorgeous sandbox or try again.

Hardware & Reviews / Re: New Monitor
« on: November 06, 2019, 04:33:37 PM »
Haha yeah but this one monitor cost more than double than my 3x27s, so to go triple with this would be beyond my budget and no GPU in the world would be able to max it out anyway  :o

Hm...if I remember correctly Marty was using 3x 4k monitors...but it definitely needs a beefy GPU or three :).

Wrt the image, Russ; you did insert an image, but the image source is not an image...the URL it points to redirects to a html page.
This is the what you have added:
Code: [Select]
<img src="https://photos.app.goo.gl/duf93JNRyXVtExj19" alt="" class="bbc_img">
I can recommend imgur for sharing images; it does give you the actual image source.

That made me thinking of this old guy, who has a brilliant voice.

I've read somewhere that you can't run servers - again - so team matches are a bit of a problem.   Is that so?
