I couldn't avoid a slow motion spin by the car in front of me at the end of lap 1, and the contact sent both of us sailing off into the grass, to the rear of the pack. From there, I worked my way back to my start position of 10th. I pitted about midway to change tyres only, and from there couldn't catch up to Bacchulum. It ended up being a fairly lonely race for the most part.

Pit stops, what a waste of time! My tyres got to a point at about 25 laps and seemed to pretty much stop degrading and I was still doing consistent times (54s to mid 55s).

Yeah. I've noticed that before. Reduces the realism a bit. Maybe Tire v10 model will fix that or does the Escort already use v10 tires?

It should say when you load the car what tyre version it has, used to be an issue with the old DTM cars too where the softs would only wear to a point that was still quicker then the mediums when they were at full grip.

Also if damage is off there is no graining, blistering or flatspots so its fairly likely tyres will last a full race if they dont go fully off the cliff at any point.

In hindsight I wish I had tested beyond reading the % of the tyres too, but just sour grapes after making a complete stuff up with my first, (non required) pitstop... I should have practiced the pitstop, as it caused me to reenter with a full tank after finally clicking enough app realeastate, under blue flag for every other driver being such a short track... GRRRR stupid boy!

yes, I thought tires would drop off as they got to 98% in about 10 laps
