S4R1: Imola race chat (Nov 18)
« on: November 09, 2014, 09:27:39 AM »
In the first round, everyone will drive the McLaren MP4-12C GT3. The main race will be 24 laps.

FYI, The McLaren can do 13.6 laps on a full tank.
A few timings for you: It takes about 10 seconds to fill the tank from empty in a pit stop. They can change your tyres for you in that 10 seconds as well, so it doesn't take any extra time to change tyres.

Is Bacchulum's 1:36 RSR world record really the target laptime for this race?

No worries Tom.

Is Bacchulum's 1:36 RSR world record really the target laptime for this race?
No, the real mark is more around 1:45.x.

Regarding Pit Stops:
I watched a few You tube videos and it would seem you don't initiate a pit stop out on track, but rather pull in and there is an options screen that pops up once you stop where you can make your choices.  So I assume making your selections quickly will save you some time.
Secondly, are there pit lane speed limits?  and/or a speed limiter button?
This will be a first so it would pay for everyone to be up to speed on the process.

Exactly. You just drive into pits, a pit speed limiter is automatically applied. You cannot speed in pits. There is a white pit box, clearly visible, that you must stop in. A pop up menu appears, where you can choose what to do with tyres, fuel and repairs. You click an apply button, then you can go after 10 seconds (unless you do repairs, which takes longer). Again, you don't have to watch your speed on the way out.

Sounds simple.....thanks Wally!

Yeah, it's still fairly simplistic. You can't pre-set a fuel strategy, for example. It's easiest to just click the Fill button. But thankfully, unlike rFactor, damage repair isn't on by default!

Yes. Edit race.ini, from memory. I think you set fuel rate to 3 in that file.
